If you sell SPONSORED links spots on your site.

I am planning on selling Sponsored Links spots on my site after I assess my traffic for a couple months like: DNSCOOP.COM (where it says SPONSOR). How much should I charge for links: 300x250, 125x125, based on hits.

What I mean is: if I sold 300x250 spots, how much is reasonable to charge for x hits (like 1000 hits = $300 a month, or just ballpark something for me), and what is reasonable to charge for 125x125 spots. Also what is more worthwhile for me, like 8 or so 125 x 125 spots, or like 2 300 x 250 spots?

    Thanks!

depends on overall traffic. Prob not going to get $300 unless its a high traffic site.

That is what I am asking for, give me an estimate based on traffic, like every 1000 clicks = $30 a month or something like that.

I'd advise setting your initial price somewhere around the recommendations above, and fine tuning it as you determine your actual rate of sales.

You could also base it on the CPM of the ads, figure out what CPM you'd make with AdSense or another alternative and charge slightly above that.

Also, look at what your competition charges and go from there.

That's one of my problems, this is completely unique idea, I don't have competition, technically it is a type of search engine, but not exactly the same + I don't have resources to start making a huge Adsense like thing for this site, so basically I have no real estimate to know what I can charge.

With 2000 visitors / day, you can charge

    - $30/month for 125x125 banner ads (right sidebar - above the fold)
    - $80/month for 300x250 banner ads (right sidebar - one scroll)

    Hope this help :)

You could also charge based on impressions. It definitely makes it easier for you to calculate how much you'll make.

I like that idea, but tracking that would be a little difficult, that is only problem. I'd have to implement a way so that after however many impressions they buy it goes away. But that might be a good idea.
