Is there any added value to the publisher with Google"s new interest-based advertising? I think so and here is why. Every so often I add a content page to one of my niche websites that is relevant to the niche, of value to the visitor, but whose main keyword(s) cannot be deciphered by the Google adsense robot or there are no relevant paying ads to display. And what you see on that particular page are the dreaded Public Service Ads. I believe that with the new interest-based advertising method which will place ads (at times) based upon the recorded interests of your visitor, public service ads will more often be replaced with paying ads. The ads may not be directly pertinent to your niche, but they will be pertinent to your visitor. I suspect that when the content of your page has relevant ads to display that is what you will get - niche related ads. But when there are no relevant niche related ads - you will display visitor-interest related ads. Anyway, that's how I would run the program. It will be interesting to see if my pages with public service ads suddenly start generating revenue, while my niche related ads continue to run, I hope so!
Here is an example of how I believe the new google adsense program would work: Let say you have a niche website about bouncing balls and one of your pages, which is about croquet balls, is only showing public service ads generally. Then a visitor, who has been visiting football sites, comes to your croquet ball page. Normally your football visitor would only see public service ads, but with the new google Interest-based Advertising system, your visitor would see ads about football and maybe even football "balls," because google has noticed that this visitor likes football. Anybody else think it will work this way or will it work differently?
Nice way of thinking. I am not sure but it will be different from this. No idea coming to my mind. I received the message about this new feature a few hours ago so had no time to research on it. I hope it work as you said. If your thinking is right I will earn more from adsense.
Wow, this is good. That's mean people from other website that come to your page will still seeing related ads.
I think so, but Google can now choose to either show ads related to the browsing history of the visitor or to your niche content. And as Google wants to make as much money as is possible (without being evil), they will hone this by showing ad that the visitor will click on more often...
