Hello, Suppose you have let's say 5000 pageviews per day on a site. How much can a professional adsense user earn by placing everything correctly ? I know there are alot of factors, but just to have an idea... $2 max. or $20 max per day... What are your own experiences with this amount of pageviews?
It depends heavily on the site and the site design. If you have a low-competition keyword or a site that doesn't promote looking at the ad, you may not be making a lot of money (I have a site that only makes about $.50 a day with 4k page views). If you have a high-competition keyword, you could be making $20 a day (well, that may be a little high, but possible).
What topic/field/niche is your site in? Without that information, any number anyone gives you is pissing in the wind. It's useless.
Art, hmm. So that means you have a lot of pictures for people to look at? Or is it more of a tutorial site? If it's image heavy, that usually translates into a few hundred uniques a day and 1000s of impressions. What is your unique visitor count? Impressions skew the numbers, especially if your site is image heavy, because one unique can generate 10-20 impressions.
Yes alot of images. And you are right, 150 unique visitors translates into 4000-5000 page views. So how would that do with adsense?
Well, 150 uniques is still good, but there is a lot of room for improvement. As to how much you can make, it depends on what kind of ads you will get. Since I am assuming you will have different artwork for different topics, each topic will pay different; i.e. keywords generate ads specific to that keyword, and each keyword has its own prices. I.e. game ads play lousy, but ads about lawyers and mesotholemlia pays a lot, etc. Overall, you should get ads for "art" or "gallery" or something similar, and those, I'm afraid, doesn't pay very well. But if you use the right keywords for every page, and triggers the right kind of ads, you could do, what okay. If you absolutely need a number, for 150 uniques, and keeping in mind your site's content/theme, I'm guessing $5/day tops. That's not a lot, but if you can increase your traffic, you can increase your earnings.
Hi Jackburton, Thanks for your help. The pages are about art, but themed art. So the art and graphic-like keywords are only placed on the index page. The pages with the images have each a different theme like "flowers", "cars", ... Just like i mentioned in another thread i made on this board. I have not tried the ads on these pages yet, so i hope the google algoritm determines which ads are "right". Is this algorithm working the same way as the google spider which indexes the pages on search results ? So you need to do SEO on each page in detail before getting the correct ads ? The pages don't have very much text, mostly images, but i place keywords in the title of the page and in 2 headers in the content area of the page. Greetings
SEO is really for search engines. To get relevant ads, choosing the right header title (with keywords), adding caption text (what each picture is, etc.), and alt-tag text, should do the trick. If you don't have enough keywords, Adsense might default to "art"-related ads. It really is tricky making money with pictures gallery. My suggestion is to build up your traffic, and then apply to a CPM ad network where you will get paid per impression instead of relying on clicks. CPM ad networks really is the only true way to monetize sites that are image-heavy.
On some sites with alot of images, i see that they placing a small thumbnail above each google ad to improve clicktru, but is it allowed ? I see these sites are doing it for months, how come they are not banned ? It feels like misleading the surfer...
One of my sites gets about 4k ad views/day, and generates $12-13/day. The clickthou is like 0.9% too....
Yes, that's allowed as long as you keep a visible border between the ads and the images. But while this MAY increase your CTR, I don't believe the impact will be that great. Of course it misleads the surfer. That's the whole point of using the images above the ads. It's up to you to decide for yourself if it's something you're willing to do.
like the other guys said, you have to be more specific I'm running several sites and CTR and earnings really vary... good placement can get you up to 3-4 % CTR, thus 200 to 300 clicks... after that it's a matter of where your visitors are from and what are the ads about, it could vary from 2 cents / ad to 40 cents per ad...
