    I don't understand your qestion.

Do you mean what's the difference betwen site:www.name.com in Google & site:www.name.com Yahoo?

Not all search engines display the same results some take time.

I think what he means is when you look at the amount of backlinks Google lists in their webmaster tools it's always a smaller number than the amount you see when you type linkdomain:www.yoursite.com into Yahoo. What does this mean?

Yahoo counts pretty much all your major backlinks as being true backlinks in their algorhythm. The exception is multiple backlinks from one site - they won't count all of them, just some of them. In Yahoo's eyes, the links you see listed when you type linkdomain:www.yoursite.com into Yahoo is the amount of backlinks Yahoo counts as being "real" to your site.

Google doesn't list all of the links it counts when you type your info into webmaster tools. It only lists some of them. Also, Google's algorhythm is different and they don't consider all the backlinks you get to be important. It's pickier about what links it likes. For instance, getting links from blogs that have "no follow" enabled means that Google will ignore those backlinks. Yahoo will count them.

So as you build a site, you're going to see two slightly different pictures of the amount of backlinks your site has. Yahoo will look at most of them and count them as real. Google will only look at some, and even then when you type your site into their webmaster tools to look for your backlinks, they aren't going to give you a complete list. You may have many more backlinks actually being counted by Google. They only list a partial list.
