SOunds like they are discounting the clicks. Usually, when they do that, it is because they considered them invalid. If I accidentally click one of my own, which does happen every once in a while, I see it register in the account, but it pays 0. Google knows my IP and knows the click was not valid.

It is not an instant update on your account when someone clicks on an ad.
The money may or may not show up later.
Some clicks pay absolutely nothing, believe it or not!

so the money doesn't show up instantly? i mean, if someone clicks 5 of my ads today, is the update 'lag' as long as a day? so the clicks+ corresponding money (or none) would show up when updated?

I've never seen a click lag more than a few hours..

If they are banner/CPM ads, then you will probably get $0.00 for a click (are they banners?)

otherwise, they've probably been counted as invalid.. and, with 50 invalid clicks, I would expect "the email" pretty soon..

I Didn't know this. So if I click on my ads accidentaly Google knows and just discounts it? I thought they called it all fraud and killed your account?

And before anyone gets me wrong I mean if I honestly accidentaly click once or twice, not a couple hundred accidents a day.

Did you have to contact Google to let them know which IP's to block or did they do it automatically?

Google uses a lot of factors to discount your accidental clicks. Just know that they know it's you when you click and leave it at that.

Sorry Everyone this is totaly off topic.

But I just followed the link in Mike323 signature about feeding the hungry.

This seems really cool. Mike323 Can I add a link to the same site you use or do I need to become some kind of affiliate and get my own link?

I doubt Google will ban you if you click your own ads just once or twice.

Thanks Everyone for the quick replys.

So simply put DON"T Click my own ads.

But if it happens (which it has not yet) do I need to contact Google myself just in case?

IMO if you contact google and tell them you click your own ads your the bigest idiot ever but I know many on here disagree.

    Okay,

I Don't Click on my own ads, never have, as I know that Google may infact know more about my actions than God.

I was just asking because I was curious about what SiteExpress said in the second post about clicking on his ads and having Google ignore it.

And I agree with you, if I was to be clicking on my own ads I don't think it would be the smartest thing in the world to call up Google and tell them.

I have accidentally clicked my own ads twice over the 3-4 months I have been using Adsense. Both times Google registered the clicks but did not credit any money to my account. I'm not too worried about getting banned for this, as I'm sure Google realizes that accidental clicks happen from time to time. At least I hope so.

So essentially what I now understand is that Google understands that accidents happen, but they are not very tollerant if you are extreamly accident prone (multiple occurances, frequently).

Christ, did anyone go to ebrawl's site? The quicktime movie plays a loud annoying sound of a car racing for about 10 seconds when the page loads, before you can even see the video. I can't believe anyone would stay on that page.
