Question about transfering a domain...

Hi, just wanna ask if i transfer a domain from one registrar to another, does that transfer everything including the custom nameservers i've made?

Cuz if i'm transfering my hosting domain and if nameservers are not transfered my clients and my websites will get a downtime

PS: Transfering from Triple.com to Name.com

    Regards,

    Transfer works like this.

For example, you have domains at namecheap and want it at godaddy.

So make transfer at godaddy, they will charge you 0$ + regfee and then contact Namecheap to push domains to Godaddy.
Then Namecheap will send you confirmation e-mail where you confirm that you did really request domain transfer. After that, godaddy and namecheap will do all that for you.

    It usually takes 3-5 days.

Enjoy. So remember, make tranfer from Target registrar not source registrar :)

I get your point. This happens with some registrars. The name servers are automatically imported to the new registrar thus your site downtime will be 0.

With us, its very much the case, but I am not sure about every registrar other than godaddy.

Yes, typically speaking, the nameserver info remains untouched after you transfer a domain. I think some of this has to do with the backend of the registrar, but I think pretty much any registrar has it so that the domain settings stay the same.

The best way would be to confirm if from the registrar or company where you are transferring the domain to.

The worst could be that if the customer name servers or host records are not transferred, your site could be down for some time until the new host records propagate.
