Forum or Social networking sites for backlinks

Hello friends,
I am little bit confused for forum sites and social networking sites. which one is better for getting back links?

I do not know for sure, but I believe that the social is better because you will post on various sites, not just in one.

 

Obviously, you'll have to test to be certain, but in general you want backlinks from sites with a high page rank, regardless of whether they're forums or social networking. The best advice I can give you is to use both -- good targeted traffic is good targeted traffic.

Both have same value - as it is dependent on the quality of the backlink you are getting - you could get forum backlinks but still that forum has got no value then the backlink is wasted same for social network sites...

For backlinking it depends on whether that forum or social networking sites use "dofollow" attribute or not however for getting traffic you should use multiple options.

 

I would prefer forum signature to generate quality backlink, Also Backlinks are up as well as some keywords got good position in google search engine

Well i will say that if you are just asking about backlinks, then i will vote for Do follow forums, and if you are asking about overall SEO, then no doubt Social Bookmarking and Social Networking websites are best way.
But You should use both these when you are doing SEO..
