I am transferring a domain to GoDaddy from Moniker. I entered all the auth codes and such, and now GoDaddy is saying "Accept transfer at current registrar". I was wondering what the next step in this process is (assuming there is one). If there is, how can I get to it?
If you have already provided authorization code to godaddy then your domain name should transfer within 5-6 business days.
@thewebhostingdir - He already received the auth codes from his current registrar. See first post. @zelphics - You are all set. All you need to do now is wait. That's what I'm doing right now. 5-6 business days seems like forever when you have your site down on your current host! - Doug
Good one.. I too was puzzled to see "Accept transfer at current registrar" at godaddy.. Why dont they say "Waiting for transfer"
i transfered mine domain from xxxx registar to godaddy now after entering all details and Authorization Code from xxxx registar i also get this Accept transfer with current registrar. Status: Pending Current Registrar Approval Step 3: Accept/Decline The transfer is waiting for the customer to accept it at the losing registrar now should i wait 5 days or is there any way not to wait so long. i cant find the answer above so i am asking it . Also the date of expiry is not change when i did whois again .WHY
I think it depends on the policy of your old registrar moniker, for security reasons your old registrar gives you chance to cancel the transfer just incase you recognize that something is wrong with the transfer
4-5 are normal to transfer domain between registrars. If further deley, try contacting their support.
and when everything is done, in godaddy you should see, waiting for final approval from old registrar
The problem is that domain expires on 04. March 2009 and I have done it on 03. March 2009 and in 5 days it will be expired. Am I now in the danger to lose the service until the domain transfer has finished because now I'm not able to extend the domain registration service? What should I do now?
Probably tranfer will be successful, because most of the registrars give you 2 weeks to renew your domain after it's expiration date
Most registrars take 5-6 days for the approval. Like one of my customer was transferring the domain to me. He entered all the auth codes and after that he received the email from his current registrar that it will take 5-6 days for the approval. While some registrars have instant approval features which allows self approving the transfer.
What actually happens during these 5 to 6 days? Are we waiting for someone to manually authorise the transfer? My ISP has basically folded, though they won't admit it - 48 hours of no emails & unanswered phone calls. However, they did give me access to my domain account with https://manage.opensrs.net (part of tucows) so I can do both ends of the transfer myself. I am attempting to transfer to GoDaddy, who says I am at stage 3: Step 3: Accept/Decline The transfer is waiting for the customer to accept it at the losing registrar. If the customer does not accept the transfer at the losing registrar within 5 days, the transfer will be accepted automatically. Recommended Action: The customer should accept the transfer. However, over at the opensrs.net site (losing registrar), there are no domain change requests waiting for me. So, I can't really see that GoDaddy has sent anything to the losing registrar yet. Maybe this is just something the computers sort out between themselves eventually & I just need to wait longer? It's only been a couple of hours, but as I am handling both ends, I can't really see what GoDaddy is waiting for. The losing end has already given the transaction ID, security code & Domain Auth Code. Thanks, Dave
I too am trying to move over. I dont know what the wait is for. GoDaddy seriously need to improve the language and general GUI on their account manager. It's plain awful.
