I've got a site over 18 months at # 1 for a high competition keyword and never changed a bit of content...

Nice theories but with SEO anything can be overcome.... strong quality links will trump most thoughts such as these ;-)

Links is the first thing in search ranking.

Regular updation of Contents comes at second rank so far search result is concerned.

 

Thats something really interesting.I am not sure-Does this mean that if you further update your site you will lose the ranking.Or is 18 months a lesser time frame for a site as compared to a blog?I mean we need to update blogs frequently.Perhaps sites need lesser updates?

 

Content is very important for sure, but what I find crazy is how few people put there keywords in the meta title. It's insanity not to!!!

First preference is for keywords because if we doesn't know the targeted keywords then how we can decide the content.
