Can anyone please tell me what is the best tool for backlink checking? Many different tools are giving different number of backlinks for my same blog. I am really confused and now think that no tool gives the exact number of back links. Any suggestions!
For your own site/blog, the best tools are 1. your google webmaster account >> external links 2. yahoo explorer (link: operator) Backlinks in your google webmaster account is updated with a time lag of a few weeks. For other sites/blog: yahoo explorer (link operator) As mentioned above, link operator from google is not reliable at all (don't confuse link:domain and google webmaster account).
google webmaster external link doesnt show you all links and even link:sitename also doesnt work in my case
Yahoo is the best one... it can show you new and old both back links.. Google need some time to show that.... Cheers!
Verify your site with google and yahoo and you should be able to download your external links. Both search engines are different and index different pages so you are bound to see different results in backlink check.
The best answer of the one's given (above): My site's links: GWT = 1,805 YSE = 5,620 (only shows 1000 of them) Currently, Google is showing 805 more links than Y! (85% more information)
