My PageRank vanished a few weeks after the recent PageRank update. It was a 3 and remained a 3, now its gone missing and hasnt come back for almost 2 months. No problems with site, no penalties. It's not just the toolbar showing a pagerank of 0, its every site that checks for your pagerank. Could anyone give any explanations or ideas? Did I do something wrong? I'd appreciate anything, thank you!
A sudden decrease in PR usually means that your webiste is in violation of some of Googles guidelines. Try seeing if you are still indexed (site:mydomain.com), and try just typing your URL in to Google. If you just type one of your page URLs in to Google and you are not the first or second result chances are you are in penalty and need ti fix it and submit a re-inclusion.
Okay had a look at Google and you are indexed and it doesn't appear you are in penalty. How old is your website? If your website is new sometimes PR vanishes and comes back in a few weeks. Also, it might be a sudden drop in links or some of the websites you have links from have lost PR.
It's around 2 years or older. But even if some PR's dropped wouldnt that make my PR update on the next update and not update again when the PR update already happened a few weeks before? btw thank you I appreciate it.
If your website is that aged then chances are you have lost links or web pages linking to you have lost PR. As far as the PR dropping after the supposed "Big Google Update" it can still happen. Google does do PR updates everyday. It's only the major ones that come every few months or so. Also, you website could have lost PR in the recent update and the toolbar didn't register it right away. The toolbar usually can take a few weeks or longer to catch up to the real Google PR.
I see, I see... but honestly... how can all my other sites remain a pr1 or pr2 when I never even work on them, which happen to be on the same server if it matters. example: pirates arcade.com - free games free.com - online games cave.com
I am really scratching my head of why a sudden drop in the PR of your site, particularly when it is not penalized by google and has not been de-indexed. How long did PR3 last? I hope the ranking was not for a very short period. Have you stopped updating the site or has the traffic flow stopped suddenly? You must try and figure out what you have done differently or what you have stopped doing. I know..there are lots of questions and questions and no answers...But then, the answer lies in some of these questions...i guess Regards, RightMan
I honestly can't say about your other websites but you must have done something or stopped doing something to lose your PR. How is you website in the SERPs? Are you still recieving Google traffic?
Actually I just did a quick check on your website and I noticed a few problems. You have exceeded the amount of pop-up ads allowed on some pages, you have some duplicate meta data, and it appears that you have some duplicate content. It's a penalty.
Hello RightMan , I had a PR3 for about a year and a half... Traffic flow is doing better than ever, I'm almost in top 100,000 in Alexa now... Really happy about that, finally all this hard work is paying off. true..
If thats a penalty then why doesnt Google Webmaster Tools let me know these errors and why are pages still being indexed?
Are you talking about the 2 different CSS in meta and also the 2 different JS scripts in meta? So I guess make the popup every 48 hours? Also what about the keywords..... a little long....
I'm not sure about the meta data because Google is usually really good with that but it doesn't always show duplicate content. You do have a lot of pages indexed, maybe it just hasn't caught up yet? Also, Google doesn't recognize keywords really. I'm mainly talking title and description tags. For example, when i type you site in to Google on the first page alone you had the words "play online free games activegamez" on seven of your pages. I can only guess how much more are like that.
You know PR is interfix with your backlinks,so i think you'd better to build more and more backlinks.
What would you say is a good popup range? Could be part of the problem.. Right now set to 4 hours.. The script is also on every page, is that bad? - 4 hours - 8 hours - 12 hours - 24 hours - 48 hours - 72 hours - 96 hours - 168 hours - 360 hours - 720 hours
