    Hello!

I have updated my site's ad placement. CTR is a bit lower than before, but the end result is a lot more pleasing to the user (i.e. it's a lot less spammy than before).

The URL is (keep it non-clickable please, I'd like to keep a clean backlink profile):

    http://www.zonnepanelen-info.nl/
    Code (markup):
The site is in Dutch, but that doesn't matter much; have a peek at ad placement. Please tell me if you any suggestions for improvement!

I think your pages are too long that visitors don't see the ads after reviewing the articles.
    I'd suggest:
    - placing the ads within the article body, or
    - breaking articles to more pages that visitors always see the ads.
    Just my two cents.
    Cheers.

Pictures are not allowed close to the banner if they confuse the visitor into thinking the ads are part of the content. Do you think this is the case now?

About link units... I've never had any success with them. Any tips on how to put them to good use?

Hmm...I just hardly notice that the ads are there once I scroll to the bottom of the page.

There's a fine blance between 'eye-catchy' and 'spammy'. I like blending ads so as not to appear spammy, but blending too well might lead to people ignoring the ads. On the other hand, you have a trained eye and probably are inherently slightly ad-blind. So do you maybe have any suggestions for improvement? Thanks for your thoughts.

We all have the same eyes. But come on!!

You're using google's default colors, Can you imagine how much "WE ALL" see that on ther internet?!!

The whole page have a white background, blue text links, and all normal text is black... Seriously, how would that catch my eye?!!

You don't have to make it "spammy", Just make it catch my eyes, I'll read the ad, and click it.

    That's how it goes, ABCs.

Ad unit colors are my 2 cents, You can also try adding more ads to the right places. But colors changing is a must.

First of all, we don't all have 'the same eyes'. Experienced computer-savvy people will quickly distinguish an ad from content, whereas a less technical person will not. By far the most ad clicks are generated by less technical people, who think they are clicking a regular link and don't have a clue about ads. Are you aware of the fact that blue links are natural to these people and thus attract more clicks?

And doesn't google default color scheme use green-ish URLs?

I've been testing here and there, but this color scheme works best by leaps and bounds. The only think I'm unsure about is the URL color; I'm split-testing grey, black and blue-ish there.
