OK... makes a little more sense to me. I've never heard of this form of advertising. Like they say learn something new every day.

I'll do some research on this.

Last question, how does google analytics and other stat programs pick this up. In other words does it record a referral relating to your company, or are there 1000's of referral URLs or does it come in as organic.

 

@richybear: Analytics will show a referrer as jumpvine.com, which is yahoo, an advertising partner of ours. This is one of the places we hold inventory of which we are selling. All the visitors will have unique ips, because its real people that are visiting the sites.

 

Just to give an idea... I have a myspace website and used this service last week to delivery traffic.

On my website is a music player that tracks the number of hits from people listening to my music. It went up quite a bit overall from the hits i got, not every one of course(nor would i expect everyone to be interested in my music), but enough, maybe 40-50% of hits also listened to my music.

I don't think a bot could do this!

@JasMate: I've answered that question in this thread. Traffic is from undelivered advertising inventory through AdWords, YPN (Overture), FastClick, Casale Media, and other mainstream advertising accounts that we operate.

Visitors are sent to your site via interstitial ads(ads that show up between links from one page to the next) while surfing on our own network of verified trusted sites.

I purchased 10,000 hits and less than 2,000 were unique.
Also, all traffic for my site came from this link.

He says jumpvine.com is part of Yahoo, but according to the register info, it is hosted on godaddy.com, and registered by "Domains by Proxy, Inc." (I doubt Yahoo would register through that, eh?)

Also, out of all my hits, there were NO visitors who stayed on the site beyond 10 seconds, 0 advertisement clicks, and I also had the lowest Alexa rank I've had in ages for that day.

I have therefore come to the conclusion that this traffic is FAKE.

 

@dannyzs: You do not need to go to all my threads and make these attempts to hurt my credibility. My itrader feedback and positive reviews in threads speak for it all. I will reply with what I wrote in the other thread.

Jumpvine.com is owned by yahoo. Go to jumpvine.com and it will direct you to yahoo.com.

Depending on your site, visitors will either find it interesting or not. I cannot control how long they stay on the site. That is the risk you take when you buy traffic. There is no way to tell how much visitors will like your site until you try it.

This traffic will lower your alexa rank fast, but it takes days and weeks of doing it, not short spirts of traffic. You cannot judge the effects of the traffic on your alexa score in that short of a time frame.

The traffic is not fake, it is all unique traffic, shown via interstitial ads, all visitors ip's are unique and the traffic is 100% legit. There are several positive reviews in this thread, so I think that speaks for the quality of the traffic. Thanks.

This traffic is not good for Youtube. It probably was before the recent youtube changes, but not now. So please, don't advertise it as such.
