Atheism has never claimed and never will claim to be anything more than a rejection and lack of belief in deities. Atheism is not responsible for discovering where the universe came from.
Let me be a crazy nut job and respond EXACTLY as a Christian or other religious person would to the question, where did god come from? "It always was" -truth is I have no clue. But my point is where the heck does this "god" come into play. Remove him from the sentence (or question) and its the same question with the same response... "WE DONT KNOW"
