Seem like you are using unverified paypal account. Godaddy only accept verified Paypal account. So, you can either add your credit card to verified your account, or buy from other registrars where accept unverified paypal.

GoDaddy requires verified PayPal account because it creates a billing agreement with paypal for future payments and subscription. That is why the credit card attached to paypal is needed.

GD are a bit strict with the payments especially from paypal. One of my customer had a problem and the support team told that even if there are funds in your paypal account you still need a credit card to make the payment.

If you wish, you can try my site ruchiedomains.in for registering any domains. I accept online as well as offline payment options.

    I believe namecheap.com, name.com and domainsite.com take unverified PayPal.

I think its pretty sick that they want the credit card just so they can get your money later when you turn your back. Like a porn site with free stuff and then you click wrong link and your money is gone.
