I created a new site, on 5th March, submitted sitemap to google and submitted the RSS feed to pingler, then I started forum posting with anchor text in sigs, only 90 per day ( 3 forums x 10 posts x 3 anchor texts) from 9th-11th March, did 150 directory submissions on 8th March. Web site was in #3 spot, now dropping to #8 spot, also checked on Google and the 7 pages had been indexed this morning now only 5? Is this due to me building back links? I thought I was doing it slowly, I know my competitors build an average of 200 links per day. What's best to do know?
I don't think so. Google just acts that way at times. They are likely to punish any site for whatever reason they want.
Thanks for that, but I was looking for someone with some thing constructive to say, we all know the big G is a law unto them selves.
Like speel00 said Google can be all over the place with what they index. Use yahoo site explorer to get a better idea of what is indexed.
May be its a little change from Google... I don’t think that it’s for permanent.... i think Google showing this rank just for a little time... some time it’s happens... so don’t worry about it... Very Soon your site will be on previous position . Cheers!
New sites are often given a bonus in the rankings, this could simply be losing some of that. If you were penalized you probably wouldn't be on the first page anymore unless there was practically no competition
You can also loose your rank because others are promoting their sites more than you are. If you are punished you go off from first 10 pages (or more)
Could it be that the main 2 pages that have been de-listed is due to the fact I have been building backlinks to them? If this is the case will it be re-listed and how soon? If sandboxed what is the quickest way out?
It's OK now, one of the de-listed pages is now showing in the SERPs and 1 of the indexed pages isn't - I think it's a Google thing!
I agree with "Random Guy". I've seen brand new sites land on the first page of Google all the time. Within a few weeks, "poof!" they're gone. It's not necessarily a penalty, it's just that new sites often get a temporary rankings boost when they first launch. Within a few weeks though, the algorithm ends up putting them where they "belong". I've had clients come to me in a panic going "Why is this site ahead of me in Google?!" and I just tell them to wait a few weeks, and it drops off the page every time. I think this quirk in the Google Algorithm is much more likely the cause then anything you've done wrong.
When I opened up my new site a week ago, I had 5 pages in Google. Then I added 5 more (total of 10) and saw I only had 2 pages in Google. Did some SEO, submitted sitemap, dugg some posts, pinged them, etc. Now all of my pages are on Google. Now to keep up the SEO for another week and a half and sit back to reap the rewards.
I got my new site indexed in the first day, deindexed and then again indexed after 2 days. I think this is normal for new sites.
I now have allmy pages indexed in Google and 3 pages showing up on Page 1. Looks as though it was a glitch.
I think you should concentrate on link building and other promotions for your site rather than getting upset. Let big G does what they think right, you should mind your own business and let big G mind its own business.
Dear , Your Sites Has Gone To Send Box.. According Google Algo You Can't Losts Work On New Domain.. Don't worry it's come back ASAP.
there is nothing to be worried about and what you are doing is fine given that you can keep up with it. its a fairly new site so you cannot expect solid permanent ranking. its takes few months for the ranking to stabilize so keep up the good work
