-What happened before the Big Bang?

    Plus...
    -How did time begin?
-If you are not a believer in the Big Bang theory, then what do you believe took place?
    -Were we planted here?

I know that these topics are quite deep, but would interested in any ideas on any of the points raised. Cheers.

I believe in a religion and a God so my answer to this is God made the heavens and the earth and everything in it.

There was this eternal energy which eventually gained consiousness. The energy and consiousness joined to form a formless God. And then with a Big Bang the formless God transferred into time and everything else that we know.

According to one religious theory ;)

#Before big bang, there were many small bangs....

I am totally clueless on this one...

Having read several theories, each conflicting the other, I am still to find a good read which would help me figure out how the first living creature came into existence?

There are more questions on this topic, than the answers...I guess

    Regards,

I just can't get my head around any of it.

It's very confusing to ponder how time was non-existent and then suddenly triggered. If there was a maker as well, then you wonder who was the maker of the maker?!

It's like the "life after death" argument - I guess it will always be one of lifes mysteries!:)

One of the mysteries of the universe that we will (probably) never have a definite answer for.

God wanted to create us, so the Bing Bang occurred.

Now what happened before, we can't know, unless God allows us to know.

    Peace,

    GOD

THE ETERNAL GOD makes for HIMSELF, a dimension outside of HIS ETERNALNESS that will show forth for all the ages to come what HE IS ALL about.

    Genesis 1:1;
    Isaiah 14:12-15ff; Ezekiel 28:12-19; Genesis 1:2a-b;
    Genesis 1:2c-8:22

    No.

    Great questions!

    Nehemiah:

I have only just noticed your thread in this section which is quite detailed regarding a similar theme of topic. I actually posted this thread up in general chat, but the mods moved it over to Politics and Religion. Had no idea, as would have just joined your thread.

I do have faith in god, but my confusion comes when I start to think of who could have been the maker of god himself and I know you will say that he is eternal and is everywhere around us... I just really like to question the unknown and hear viewpoints from every angle.:)

I think one of the weirdest things to get your head around is time. I mean how was it created?, was it created?, so what was there before time?, or is time even real?, if time can be created could it be reversed or forwarded?

at the end of the day we know very little about anything. Like seriously speaking i know we have come a far way but have we even touched the surface of knowledge let alone scratch it? Imagine how big our encyclopedias will be in a 100 years.

Okay. Ain't trying to snow you. . .just trying to learn. . .but from SOMEONE smarter than me. . .if there be someone.

Now, lest you think that I think I'm the smartest person GOD ever Created, I'm as dumb as HE Created, trying to explain stuff to all you smart folks why HE IS, without showing HIMSELF to yall, which, kinda like like HE told Moses, if you saw HIM FACE to face, you'd be (show nuff) f------!

Well then, let's assume for a moment that HE IS not ETERNAL. Who's your "god" now? Do you really believe that a monkey made you as smart as you are now?

I choose to believe GOD. . .because every time I wake up and go to the bathroom (after being delivered from Prostate Cancer), I just gotta believer that SOMEONE greater than myself keeps me from pissing on myself, and in the bed.;)

Think about it, JESUS CHRIST, has got to be WHO HE claimed HE IS/WAS, or the dumbest individual that ever lived.

    What do you think?

Just as surely as GOD IS, so is Time. . .HIS Creation! Time is kinda like an offramp of Eternity. You were once a baby (with all that mentality) before you discovered that you were/are you. As a baby, you believed, even without knowing that you were believing.
At 6 months, somebody brings the 2:00am feeding to you and you'd tell them, "git that bottle away from me, because I'm my own self-sufficiency, my own parent, my own self, my own god...right?...

. . .for humans, GOD has CHOSEN to never reverse Time, but guess what? HE's CHOSEN to never take you back to how dumb you were before you believed ON/IN HIM, either.

And just for the moment, "Imagine" how BIG GOD IS. . .if I'm right.

Nehemiah, what makes you think that if you don't believe in god you are dumb? Many studies show that as IQ increases, theism and belief in god deceases.

Modern Science is Just 100-150 years old and has told us more than what humans were able to know in last 1000-2000 years.......so wait for a couple centuries and we will know it all one day..........:)

I'm surprised and slightly disappointed by the amount of people on DP that believe in god. Wake up people, the Dark Ages are long gone.

Dang, if "Modern Science is Just 100-150 years old", and your ancestors were monkey, a billion years ago, what is wrong with that family portrait?:D

GOD; and HIS WORD: Isaiah 1:3.

Who orchestrated those studies, 'ats/ags' or theists and/or believers?
