Cuil is awful! I have used it once or twice and will never use it again. Why use a very very sub-par search engine when you can use google

 

I dont mind new search engines coming , cuil's indexing is good

Not everything can be purchased. Some people are simply not interested in selling a product with alot of potential. Facebook wasn't purchased by google ...

I know one or two of the people involved worked at Google, but that's where the relation should end. They'll never be in the same league as Google. They don't index quickly and the results they throw up are useless. The design with the multi page layout doesn't work either.

Will they ever match AskJeeves, MSN, Yahoo? Hmm, maybe, but that's as far as I see it going. I actually think Ask and MSN are both improving these days and Yahoo must be doing well off the paid search (MyHomepage)! I still can't believe that Google are indexing this site as they could really take a big chunk of the market share from them.

 

Google would buy them out, first.

Google only really has to watch out for Microsoft. And right now, MS is still really far behind Google.

 

MS has far more potential than cuil, i don't believe in cuil will overtake Google

Nobody use cuil.They have only about 30k - 40k visits per day,that's nothing for search engine

 

I didn't like their search results. They are very irrelevant. I don't think they can compete with google in coming years. No matter how much pages they index what matter is quality. Google always target quality over quantity and that's why its always ahead of game .

 

Cuil is really all but dead. Just wrote a post about them on my blog - Why Cuil Search Sucks. I have tried to contact ANYONE within the organization for the last couple of weeks without any response. They always say everyone is in a meeting, but no one ever responds (I assume these meetings go something like this, 'Does anyone have an idea on how to save this company?).

I love competition, but actually have a product that functions before you sell the world on it.

Is this thread a joke? Cuil is a flashy gimmick that nobody uses. The algorithm is completely retarded.

 

Google's Search Results are such a joke, and I am really at a loss when Google lover folks proclaim how great the results are! No idea if CUIL will ever beat Google - most probably not, since Google has the monopoly - NOT because they are any good, but because it's simplistic look as a SE seems to speak to the masses + mass hypnoses equals Google feeling like God Almighty online.
However, if anyone compares the search results between Google and Yahoo than Yahoo stands way above Google qua proper results. No spam links, no advertisement on top, and everywhere, and the best of all - exact results. So sorry but cannot say the same for the results on Google. Sure, Google has much more APP'S than Yahoo does, but this has nothing to do with SE Results. Every developer would do a kill to work for Google, and I wonder why... Because they are allowed to play games while there? Or, because they can have a free meal while working on Google's premises? It definitely isn't about the innovations created by Google' as Google buys up every company with any new technology that comes around, saying softly: "...or you sell it to us, or we will break you and watch you bleed and buy you for cents on the dollar..." And who really cares, their megalomania will kill them sooner or later - and hopefully soon. Google doesn't care for webmasters or their opinions, while the same webmasters are the blood and flesh of the Internet, nope, they shite on top of their heads while confronting all of us with their next killing move, of what we have to and should do, or, otherwise - kiss yours sites goodbye from their results...
So, when will these same webmasters wizen finally and turn their backs, and stop being for sale and ass kissing Google's master ass?
