People that are ASKING OR STATING PR UPDATE.. Read this

    Hi,

I have been noticing many people who start threads saying

"Pr is updating!! I CAN FEEL IT!"

    OR

"When is the next Pr Update?"

Google is complicated and messed up to our eyes. In a way Google is like God, they have their own intentions and reasons that most of us cannot understand at all.

First off NO ONE KNOWS WHEN NEXT UPDATE IT UNLESS THEY ARE EMPLOYED BY GOOGLE

Second Off Stop making guesses when it will update next unless you really can make an educated guess. All your doing is screwing our new members up. And then you cause new members to create threads like "why is my pr not updating? Someone said it is updating!"

Please only post a thread about PR if you have a question, or if your PR went up.

I am sorry, but I kind of got sick of these posts. No hard feelings.

    -Charles

What difference does it make if you have a PR 1 or a PR 10 website, as long as you rank in the top 10 you'll be fine. PR is not directly related to ranking, a high PR means you are doing things correctly by google standards but it doesn't guarantee top rankings.

This thread is as a waste as the the threads you are whining about, this won't help at all as this thread will soon dissapear and only a few would have taken the message. Also, I don't find the "PR Update in process" and similar threads any annoying at all because I naturally ignore them, and everyone should also. You will notice the fuken PR update sooner or later, if you are concered about your site's SEO keep an eye on the SERPs, not PR.

    lol?

    Rubbish!

So what do you think PR is related to then, if its not related to ranking?

Hell, I don't know anything about it - all I can say is that a new site or mine was a PR nothing yesterday - and it's a PR0 today - and it hasn't changed where my page is listed when I search for my Keywords ;)

    +Rep @ OP - i'm glad you posted this

He told you, it shows you are doing things correctly by G's standards.

Just because you rank high up for some random search term doesn't mean your PR will be high, does it? No, it does not.

No it doesn't mean you have a high PR because you get high in the SERPs, but that does not mean there is no relationship between page rank and SERPs does it. No, it does not. :D

You can get a high PR by buying links, and that goes against G's standards, so what he is saying is wrong.

Here is what Google has to say about it.

"Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results."
    http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html

So there ya have it, PR does have a direct relationship with SERP's. ;)

    Cheers

From what ive seen of this forum over the few months ive been watching you will always get this question no matter how many times you ask people not to do it.

    1. New people seem to do it just to run up their post count.
    2. Others do it knowing it annoys people.

Lol, if a page has higher PR it is more likely to rank highly in SERPs, ok. If PR does influence SERPs then its influence is so small when compared to the other factors that its not even worth arguing about.

PR is not a major factor in non competitive niches. And there are many niches out there that are not competitive because they send so little traffic few will spend the time to design a site and market it for such little return on their investment.

In competitive niches, PR is a very important factor. Just look at the latest video Matt Cutts put out. He says when they look at ranking sites, Google is looking for trust, authority, reputation, high quality, and yes, PageRank. View the video here.

The google dance and PR updates are the pure speculation that brings us together. People notice a shift in the rankings and everyone wants to know what is happening. In the google forum I think PR updates are more relevant than most other topics.
