Something like "This site is supported by the ads you see, but we can't tell you to click them" or "This site is supported by the ads you see, but don't click them." Or either without the "this site is supported by the ads you see" Do any of those not violate google adsense ToS?
No need to tell others that 'please don't click on ads' If they like then they click otherwise they leave it themself. DON.
I am not sure about it. This I found on another jokesite they have a whole page why they use adsense on it here is the url for it. This is not my site anotherone I came across. http://johns-jokes.com/why_adsense/ I myself was wondering if its leagal
I'm running the ads on a forum, and would like to put the aforementioned statements in my sig (as the admin) to draw people's attention to the ads, whereas before they may have just browsed through and not clicked them for whatever reason, or used the forum with an ad blocker and I want to make them feel bad and click. I've heard a lot about google not allowing positive encouragement of ad clicking, but haven't heard anything about them not allowing reverse psychology. I just need someone who is more familiar with their rules to let me know if I could get in trouble through what I hope is a loophole.
haha that's a good one, google only said not to give incentive for clicks, but never mentioned the opposite of that, reverse psychology!!!
Careful though. Google say you aren't allowed to draw people's attention to the ads artificially. Telling them to not click 'em is just the same as telling people to click 'em. You are drawing attention to them, which is against the rules.
No, you cant do this, this is against adsense TOS, no any attention point to the ads, only natural click on the ads are allowed
nudu - why this idea??? is it to incentive? don't need to write any message about click or not to click
yes, to give those users who aren't sure if supporting the site they use is the right idea some added incentive.. Thanks for the input so far everyone, what is the specific part of the ADSENSE TOS that gives that part you are all quoting from?
Once you put the adds on your web site, forget about it, if you think about it very often, you will be in trouble
It's ideas like this that get your account banned then people post here why they got banned. Just make the ad colors scheme similar to your site and leave it at that. Good question though. Reverse psychology works more often than not.
well we cant stop people clicking on ads if they get attention from them... internet is all about clicking... so keep clicking
It is a good idea & quite tricky also. Reversely user make attention about to click. But plz mail adsense support about it. They only can tell after verify terms & conditions.
I wouldn't bother emailing Adsense about this...It's so blatantly against TOS that I can't believe the question was even asked...welllll, yeah, on here I can! lol
Very true and well put. Such a strategy is akin to having a big red button labelled 'do not press' - you know, as well as Google do, that it's going to tempt people to click just for the hell of it. You'd be well advised to avoid mentioning your ads at all.
