Perhaps I'm making a funny question, but still I'm interested about it. I need to grow my blog to PR5 in 30 days and for that I can do anything.
    Possible attempts may be:
    1. Submit to 1000 dofollow directories
    2. Comment on 1000 dofollow blogs
    3. Publish 300 articles
    4. Publish unique contents on 100 social bookmarking sites
    5. Post 25 excellent youtube videos.

I need ur help if I missed anything.

Getting an awful lot of spammy links quickly is as likely to get you delisted as anything. You could get a dozen or so PR6+ links and get away with it.

To be honest trying to get to PR5 that quickly probably isn't a smart idea. The toolbar only updates every 3 or 4 months anyway so unless you hit it at the right time, you won't see the effects.

You can get a few paid links from PR6 or higher sites:D if you want to reach PR5 in 30 days.
Others you mentioned, no one can tell you for sure.

    For a new-registered domain, it's impossible to get a PR 5 in 30 days.

It's possible. Just write a letter to google and kindly ask them to change their ranking policy for you. :D
Other way is to register own edu domain ;)

Good Luck with that. I would figure that Google isn't going to give you that much jump in PR at one time, especially for a site with little credibility to start with.

Getting a pr 5 for a new website isn't very difficult. I have done this once, the timing was 30 days before the google pr update, like somewhat now. He needs 8 - 10 pr 6 links. if he can get those, i would like to prove you guys wrong.

ONly direct dofollow links from high page rank and similar content pages can get you pR#5
Otherwise i find this unlikely to happen...

it's very possible.... But don't use those tricks as mentioned above. You may get your PR quickly by doing those. I've try it by myself. This is what i'm researching on 2 of my sites.

On the first sites, I get thousands of links on the first month and it works very nice. I got excellent traffic and get PR 4 when the toolbar updates. But on the second month, I loose all my traffic from google (I think my site get into sandbox). It continues on the third month and my PR slaps back to zero.

On my other sites, I only get few links, the traffic is not that much and when the PR updates, It's only PR2. But the traffic is constant and it's still PR2 now.

    Don't get into hurry...
It's like you're racing... if you're too fast, you'll broke your car-engine... and you'll stuck.

I agree completely... Make a slow and steady start and reach top speed eventually. If you try to jump start, you are most likely to fall at the first step itself.

I don't think its possible since the update takes about 3- 4 months.. anyways good luck.. just a piece of advise it would be much better if you just start slow since you will achieve your goal eventually rather than rushing it..

This is not enough for you to get PR5, none of them will be high PR strong link. The best you can get is only PR4. Get some high strong backlink through link exchange will helps

Thanks to all for ur replies.
However I figured out some Pr-6,7,8 sites with dofollow backlinks like:
Metacafe, Facebook, Myspace, Top digg post, Mixx, About, Linkedin, Reddit, Naymz, esnips etc.
And some sites offer you to review their products free of cost for a backlink.
These are the legitimate ways to boost one's PR.
But the problem is Google 'Sandblox'. I'm afraid of it.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Making too many backlinks so hurridly can delist your website from google.
It may be dangerous. So let the things going on Slowly.
