It depends where you live. Game testers are often required to play those games at a company. Have a look on google for game tester jobs in your area. You might also find one in a different country if you speak a second language.

if you're a good gamer, contact with game producers. They always need good gamers.

Do you like reading long spreadsheets & inputting things into them?
Can you program automated tasks and macros?
Do you enjoy doing the same thing over and over again?

If not, game testing is not for you. It's not a "fun" job.
I run a (small) game company that hires testers. Posts like yours immediately disqualify you :)

Thanks for giving him tips, but don't douche bag his dreams, if he wants to get paid to play games, then that's what hes gonna try to do.

What you can do if you want to play and get paid is a job of Translating Reviews
My brother did that, he worked at SquareEnix, Microsoft or 2Kgames on London.
Sometimes you have to play bad games for 2 months and it can be boring, but well.. That's still a nice job if you really like videogames.

Just go on website of developpers and look for the job section.

-Sorry if there are some english mistakes in my answer, not my native language-

What the poster is telling him - truthfully - is nobody is going to pay him to play games all day. He may get a job testing games.

That's not so.... many a times... people think that game testing is a fun job which is also highly paid.

Yes, one of it is true. It is highly paid. But not the other, it is not a fun filled job. It needs more than playing and enjoying a game. I also once wanted to be a game tester. So I understand many guy's feeling.

Not sure about this thread starter though. If he's really a good game tester, he's gonna get good job.
