Mass email script

I am currently working on a site where lots of people (hopefully) will sign up (im hoping for xxx,xxx). I need a PHP (prefered) script that will mass email everyone.

This will NOT be used for spam, but to announce winners for the contest I will be hosting.

PHPList doesn't seem to be working for me :/

 

I was going to say... PHPList. Works fine for me, easy to hack up to your own wishes as well. Else just use a class like http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/2307.html

Anyone know the best windows based system?

 

You can get a free autoresponder at www.freeautobot.com or a window based mailer-groupmail.

It can be easily deleted once you dont need it any more.

The best system may be useless on a windows based server if the mailing components are disabled or not present.

Most webservers do so preventing the use of ASPmail, Cdonts, JMail, etc., disabling dll's and exe's uploads as well so people cannot use their own email components.

 

Will my hosting company ban me if I send mass email?

 

You can go for the best email marketing service providers to send mass mails.

 

Because mailing scripts use a lot of hardware resources and then your admin will suspend your account.

 

possibly. usually your host will provide you with the limit to how many emails you can send per hour or per day. If they dont come out and tell you, just ask. i am sure that they will tell you because they do not want to lose you as a client and also that they do not want you using all of their resources and hurting everyone elses accounts. so just ask. they will tell.

Godaddy is good. I had used it for 2 years.

 

I think you should use pommo , you can set 4 SMTP which will send your mails....
you can manage all..

Those kind of scripts will simply get you in trouble with your ISP and hosting, your best bet is an autoresponder like Aweber or Getresponse, all your subscribers will have to double opt-in (even if they have already signed up before from elsewhere)
