I'm a newbie. I wanna make a site but don't which niche I can get more revenue?

Dear DP Folks,

I am a newbie to this industry. I am thinking of making a site but I can't think a good niche. I have some ideas:
1. Music site
2. Movie site
3. Flash game site
4. Artists Review Blog
5. Pornography ( Sorry, I want it also)
6. Tutorials on Computer Graphic Design
7. Others (Your suggestion)

So I really need help from you guys. Which niche is really good? Which Ad company is good for the niche? (I have no problem with technique things - web and hosting)

All of the above can be good, except for the number 5. For me, any niche can be profitable if you can dominate it.

A popular niche can be harder to dominate because of tough competition. But if you are smart enough, you can be friends with your competitors and you will be helping each other.

A lesser popular niche can easily be dominated, but you will also have a few visitors and advertisers.

You can only dominate a niche if you can be unique and creative enough. There are products that are older than us, but are still getting better.

I prefer movie niche and pornography
and adsense is best choice for normal sites , while popups and affiliates for adult sites

 

Yeah a movie niche site is probably the best to draw back revisits if you have annoying monetization methods because they are willing to go through lots of ad hell to watch popular movies/shows. However, if youre passionate about something such as art or whatever, make that your niche and update regularily/use white hate SEO's to gain revisitors.

 

Start with the one that you are most interested in and you can always move on to the next ones later.

 

Flash game site with some new games would be nice.

 

Any more suggestion with Ad company?

 

AdSense is the best ad network.

 

Google doesn't allow its ads to be run at pornography sites.

 

I agree, you can't run AdSense ads on pornography sites. But you can run them on most sites you listed above you are interested in.

Forget about thinking how which makes the most money. Even if you do find the "gold mine" niche, it wouldn't do you any good if you don't know anything about it. Pick something you have a passion for.

And the reason some niches make a lot of money is because the owners of these sites are all passionate in what they do or talk about.

 

This is good advice, because if you're interested in the topic you'll keep updating the site. Most people stop updating because they're bored writing about it.

I agree with the passion statement. Do what you believe is the best for you and when you get familiar and understand how things work you can always move on to more money making niches.

 

I would recommed Law and Legal related.

Id say either flash or music site.

 

It's interesting. Do u know a Flash site that links to other resources can get Ad from Adsense, Clicksor, Adbrite, and other? I heard some of them do not allow those kinds of site. Is that true?
