Hello, recently I noticed that the number of pages of my blog (using "site:website") is falling despite the fact I add 3 post every day and after a day they get indexed (social networking submitting) and visible in Google pretty high. And now all starts to ruin. The number of general pages is dropping ~5/day and they are totally invisible in any way. And I loose traffic from organic search. Is that a penalty from submitting to social bookmarks? Will it affect my present 0PR ? PS: The blog is on my footer
the chances are your site is penalized for something, its hard to say exactly what it is though. Is is a relitavely new site? What is the site so I can see if there is anything obvious?
1) The site is 2 months old and only for the last month been posting often, working on it 2) That's the blog in my footer
your site has 129 pages indexed currently, which isnt bad for a new site. you could be getting diferent results from different data centres, or, the way your typing the command into google. site:www.yoursite.com site:yoursite.com will give you slightly different results, always do it with the "www"
Well, I installed the redirect in my .htaccess and so the www. prefix does not show anything at all. An now my site has 126 pages indexed only. Two days ago it had 135 and 6 posts less written on the blog. I originally submitted all the fresh articles to digg, stumble upon, mixx, reddit and wykop.pl. That was giving me nice daily traffic and fast indexing of new post. I got pretty high in important phrases first page mainly like "world's biggest wave breaks" and then that page just disappeared! Since then it is falling down. Is it the penalty that I used social bookmarking networks every time? Now I only submit one post to one social bookmarking. But G still destroys my SEO. What should I do?
In a quick review of your site, I can see a duplicate content issue with it. If you copy a sentenance and paste it into a search box, your site does not come up. Others do. This is the test for all of your "gray barred" pages.
Make use of google sitemap...their analytics will tell you of any issues with dupe keywords, broken links, etc. If you need to build a sitemap, try gSitecrawler or even a nice sitemap generator plugin for wordpress.
But the fact is that Google is throwing out mostly my original content pages with good keywords. That means I have to not copy anything from anywhere, and wait for another indexing?
I use Google Webmaster tools for this website, no error reports there. I submitted and verified the sitemap to Google and it is daily updated. And this is joomla! not wordpress
If Joomla doesn't have a Google sitemap plugin then create a sitemap for free here: http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ They have a paid version for $19.99 and you should really get that one. Every time you update content or add pages and run it, it will create a new sitemap then ping the search engines. I use it on all of our sites and client sites.
