A few weeks ago i posted a site, saying I think it had been sandboxed. I changed the text on the home page as i found out it had been ripped off and the site got cached 3 times with new text still no improvement. I checked my ranking this morning at about 9.30am and we were on page 18 for "security bollards". I was bored so i decided i would do some social bookmarking and posted it on a few sites with security bollards in the title. Google cached a few almost instantly and now I'm on the 1st page for that phrase. Anyone who doesnt believe in the power of social bookmarking please take note, IT WORKS
Yes...you are spot on.. Social bookmarking does give very fast visibility in search engines and good serps but if the keyword is competitive, you will not get such excellent results.... Regards, RightMan
That's not a surprising result for a low competition keyword. It's also possible that digg or mixx come before your site for a couple of days if it's a really long tail keyword
i think if i was bored more often then I would probably see alot of results haha It did have results for plenty of phrases, never page 1, and lost them all! glad to see it back with us so to speak. Now, as you guys say, time to hit the more competetive keywords
Exactly, Social bookmarking is the best solution for kick start with google. And i agree that sandboxed can be cleared pretty soon with massive social bookmarking.
Social bookmarking is a very powerful tool. I recommend to add every page of your site to social bookmarks
Given that Google only returns 159,000 other sites for that search term, it should be possible to rank on the first page with a few decent backlinks whether they are from bookmarking sites or elesewhere. But, yes the top bookmark sites are an easy "bored moment" way of getting the links. Unfortunately they won't last as well as permanent one-way links from a relevant site. I fear you will see your ranking sink over the next few days.
Thanks a lot. From now on, I would be more active in submitting my articles to social bookmarking sites.
Yeah, social bookmarking sites does help in rankings. Just put proper tags while submitting. It also helps for fast indexing of your pages. Anyway, digg and stumble are best SB sites based on my experience.
the term you are targeting has 158k search results on google with only 590 people searching for that term in the entire month of February. that is with google search partners meaning actual google search for the term is less than that. #1 position for that term will probably bring you only few clicks a day for this extremely low competitive term. properly optimized page with only few backlink can get you #1 position for that
