    Our site http://www.sbalanprojects.com/ has a swapping banner. I wanted to know if it would be helpful or would there be some problems as related to seo so as to increase the page ranking and building the link popularity for the same.

    Nice site, but you could use a lot of optimization. Using a <div>/css layout would be much more efficient for you. Your tables are causing a lot of slow down, on the page download. Just an FYI.

    I suppose it depends on the market. I have a niche market for my product, and tried a few banner exchanges, then I found one in my field, and it nearly doubled my turnover. I have hunted for more, and at the moment can't find them

    I have used paid banners, but I didn't notice anything from them.
