How do you check the current PR of your site/ blog?

If you mean your updated real PR, you cannot check it.

There are some so-called PR prediction tools, but they are not reliable at all. Here are 2 examples:
    -http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/future-pagerank/

If you mean your PR as currently shown in the google bar, you may find details per google data center with tools such as:
    http://oyoy.eu/google/pr/?url=
    http://www.digpagerank.com/

I normally use www.checkpagerank.net for easy checking.
While you check the the Pr of your site, you should also be aware of its validity. Sometimes, the Pr is forged and fake. With the use of checkpagerank.net, it will also tell you whether the Pr is real or not.

I checked my PR and it is always zero even if it is high traffic. What does this mean?

Google Toolbar is the quickest way to get the PR, but it doesn't tell whether the PR is forged or not.

It means your website started to gather PR and it's been calculated by Google internally...

You'll have to wait till they export a snapshot to the toolbar and then you might see some greens ;)

However, they used to export those values every couple of months.. usually (3 Month's) their last export was just before the new year: 29-30 / 12 / 2008

I'm using the SEO Quake toolbar. Not only does it give pagerank, but it gives a lot of other cool and valuable information for each page you visit.

How can you worry about PR and not have google tool bar installed? Google toolbar is a must, it shows the actual page rank 99% of times.

I use firefox plus a little unobtrusive tool that appears in the top left of the screen and gives you the Page rank plus the Alexa Rank.
