Clickbank Not Allowing P2P products anymore!!!

Hi All

I just received an email from the legal department at clickbank saying it will not be allowing " any products, that in our sole judgment, encourage unlawful transfer of copyrighted media, such as music, movies, videos and games ( typically known as P2P Products "

Does this mean the end of Homebreware, my wii downloads, unlimited wii downloads platinum partners sites. Where does this leave them.

They said they are giving advanced warning so we can move our exsiting promotions and adverts to other product niches.

This is supposed to happen from noon on Monday the 9th April 20009. Anyone else receive this.

What are your thoughts on what this means. THese products were always good sellers.

Just got the same email. I better shift some of my traffic.

 

This is bad news for Movie download sites...But good if it kills off the satellite tv on pc crap thats been selling for years

 

I got this mail too. I think it is bad but that was not a surprise for me. Because as you know These products are not legal. But it is bad for us

 

Im curious but i do think i know what will happen.

TMD, will be in touch with us shortly about going direct, e.g not running through clickbank. I presume there going to continue with there operations?

Anyone heard anything? April 9th is still a month away.

 

I haven't heard a thing from the publisher I thought they would have been informed first of this decision. Maybe they are working in the background to sort something out. Must be a kick in the teeth for homebreware as the new owners have just purchased this site and not for a small sum either.

That was my next question as it is a very closed niche how can you divert traffic from a wii games membership site to anything else.

You can't. There just should be some wii affiliate programs. Direct or not.

 

My main thought is that Clickbank got themself a legal problem. Maybe a "suggestion" from their merchant or Paypal.

Why else would they cut this huge chunk of money ? P2P products are really huge on Clickbank and they make up a big % of their revenues, I'm definately sure.

 

I received this email too.

There is so damn much money being made in this niche that I have to believe these publishers will find some way to continue ... either by finding another "clickbank" type service or going direct.

If not, then we'll just have to find another product to peddle to our movie traffic.

 

I have a sneaking suspicion that big G is next in line to slap this puppy ...

I can't see why google would do that. Considering they rank thousands of movie streaming sites. And TMD is probably more legal.

 

I'm talking strictly from the PPC angle, not serps. And I have good reason to say this... but we'll see.

TMD can easily get thir own affiliate network, they dont need clickbank for this..the big question is the legality of these downloads....if they can find a loop hole to be legal , then they are back in business without clickbank

 

I don't actively promote these products but I do have a few pages up from the past that make occasional sales so this will hurt me a bit... I'm assuming that most of them will move elsewhere... where?

 

TMD are running a script. They break less laws then actual movie site owners.

 

I am taking quite a blow because of this but I would be surprised if the publisher didnt find a solution themselves. Getting processing a product like this can probably be a bitch but lets hope.
