I have AdSense running on my main website and this is my main money-maker: www.inmate-connection.com However, I am new to blogging and I have just created a blog at http://inmate-connection.blogspot.com/ Am I resposible for getting traffic to by blog? Do I have to market and promote my blog just like how I promote my website (Inmate-Connection.com)? Do I have to submit my blog to the search engines? Is Blogspot similar to an online community? Doesn't Blogger belong to Google? Will other members of Blogger find my blog automatically? I am asking because I don't know. Please help
Asking so many questions at once Answer is yes you need to promote your blog as usual as you are currently promoting your normal site. DON.
basically whatever you are doing to promote your website you will need to do the same to promote your blog.
I recommends you to lern from the other famous well known blogger.problogger.net,entrepreneur-journal.com and other is adsense.blogspot.com this is good directory to start search from the google itself
Basically it wont happen accidentally, you need to promote any type of website that you start, whether its hosted by you or part of a free service from somewhere, its still requires you to promote it.
YES. You need to promote your blog just like you promote any site. Submit it to search engines, submit posts to social bookmarking sites etc.
Wow! Talk about a captive audience But seriously folks...of course you have to market your business. If you don't, how will it get done ? Just curious ? Why did you chose to go with a free hosted blog, when you obviously have your own hosting and could have just put a blog on your existing domain ? That would have lightened some of the work ahead of you, instead of promoting an entirely new site with a different domain, for the same purpose.
I agree with hmansfield with putting a blog on your own site. But just to add some more, I think it's better if you place your Adsense above the fold instead on the lowest part of your site.
Thanks for all the responses. I actulally went ahead and installed Wordpress and Joomla on my server and created a blog here: http://inmate-connection.com/Wordpress/ After I made some changes to the template and formatting it is not even showing the content. Anyway, that is not exactly what I wanted but I'll keep it for the Adsense revenue. Now is it possible that I can incorporate all the capabilities of the blog on my site or create a page on my site (inmate-connection.com)and have it function just like a blog? I want to be able to add content/stories daily or whenever I want, organize content, archive, add links, pictures, video, widgets, comments and advertising on that page. Does anyone know how to do that? All of these files and capabilities are already installed in my SQL database. Regards, Keith. http://www.inmate-connection.com
why do you need both wordpress and joomla, one should be sufficent.... IMO joomla is overkill for most websites, wordpress should be able to handle most if not all that you want but if you have joomla already installed then use the functionality of joomla
Nope. You can feed your blog content into a page on your site via RSS, but you cannot make your website function like Word Press unless you install it and run wordpress instead of what ever static thing you got going on. I don't know what your site is running on, but t is easier to make a Word Press site behave like a static site, than the other way around.
nobodt will promote your blog for you. You have to submit it to blog directories and buid baclinks like normal
Definitely you are responsible for your blog's succes! But better get a standalone Wordpress installation than posting on Blogger...so you will have the control of your content and site.
OK..I started my Wordpress blog about 2 weeks ago and it was functioning OK until I added AdSense and changed the template to Classic. Now my posts would not open and in fact, I can't see anything on my blog. What should I do? Please help. http://inmate-connection.com/Wordpress/
You need to use a Google Adsense plugin on your site...that would manage the Adsense code so you won't have to mess up yourself. Wordpress plugin directory has some of these... Or you can better check the adsense code...it seems the Javascript is not closed...
