Well, I've been searching, looking around and nothing current for an answer. I simply want to create my own amazon product banner from scratch. Is this allowed under their terms of service? It's very confusing to read their policy. I really am not able to find a definite yes or no. I thought this would be easier to find an answer. Let's be honest. A standard amazon product link screams ad blindness. Does anyone have a definite answer here in 2009 if customized banners are allowed? Many thanks in advance!
To use on your site or to advertise elsewhere? I think the latter would not go down well as you are not allowed to falsely represent yourself as Amazon or compete with them for ad space. As to making your own creatives to use on your site, I've seen people using the Amazon logo in that way, but I couldn't give you a definitive answer. I don't think they would be bothered provided you are not altering their logo or anything, but the question is why do all that marketing on behalf of Amazon? Couldn't the banners be branded to YOUR site rather than Amazon?
Of course you can. You cannot represent yourself as Amazon, or change the Amazon logo, but if you just want to make your own product link to use on your own site, knock yourself out. I do it all the time, and just use the "buy from amazon" button as a link. You should however truthfully represent where the link is going, and you cannot represent the products as your own.
For your own advt. requirements you can. But it should not represent as an Amazon.Com advt. You can create banners with the products or niche you are targeting.
on your site do what you like. as long as the banner doesn't read ebay and links to amazon you should be ok.
