One quick question - when you use this to check your backlinks, is there any significance in the list you get. Are the ones at the top 1,2,3 better links than at the bottom of the list?
It is just a RANDOM SAMPLE of your total links. Yahoo gives no significance to the ordering of the 1000 results shown. My site has 6,400 links. (1000 divided by 6,400 = 15% of links) Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) shows 1,675 liinks === 26% of the total inbound links to my site.
I've found the ones near the top are usually more "valuable" pages. However, it's probably just an observation/luck and nothing intentional
I read a great article on this from bloggernoob.com today. Remember, Yahoo backlinks are what YAHOO sees, not necessarily Google... It is however the most efficient way to see the backlinks for a site.
I think backlinkwatch.com is better as it shows nofollow and PR. Well should show PR it does seem to when i use it. tempted to get seomoz linkscape...supposed to be the biz, but pricey.
I don't think the links at top are more important deemed by Yahoo. I think they are just a random list.
