Hi, an SEO newbie here. I have a client who is a local hardwood floors company. They own two domain names: • burchetteandburchette.com (their current site) • realhardwoodfloors.com We had their local ISP to "point" realhardwoodfloors.com to burchetteandburchette.com. In doing so, do they gain SEO benefit for anyone searching for "real hardwood floors" ? Currently, realhardwoodfloors.net is the #1 result. I had someone tell me that I should have the site hosted on the realhardwoodfloors.com domain and have the burchetteandburchette.com "point" to it instead for the SEO benefit. Is that true? If someone could help point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. We are in the beginning process of a major overhaul to add on-site SEO, but I wasn't sure about the best use of the domains. We definitely need to rank #1 for "real hardwood floors." Thanks in advance, Neil Brown
According to Google it is called "shadow" either complete redirect the website as shadow domain is counted as illicit practice. you have couple of option either wholly re-direct the website. to new website or just start a blog writing to previous domain and refers to new website.
