Im just kinda skeptical of "do it easy / quick" type things, resellers etc... Could one see decent profits with a turnkey site? What aer some good niches to go after and where can I get some for cheap / free? thanks
oH Thanks, someone had actually already showed me that when someone was trying to sell the same scripts! lol I mean, Im trying to do research and see if this can actually be profitible / worth my time. If 1,000 ppl have the exact same site up, can I really make money with this? Thats what im really trying to figure out.
If you put more quality time into it and market it better than they do, then yes. They're also good starting points for adding additional features.
My opinion on this is yes you can but it will take a ton of work. The only real easy way to make money dealing with turnkey sites, is by selling the turnkey site. If you are looking to make money I would stay away from them though. Originality is the key.
Great, this was the type of response I was looking for! lol I got a weird mind. Like, I want money / success, but I hate for it to come easy / gimmicky with no work. I love to be creative and come up with new ideas, but something already "premade" and can make "lazy money" gets very tempting. Just glad to know they aren't profitable without a lot of extra work
I'm not to keen on using those turnkey scripts. I've always given more value to those custom made solutions, that were built to suit specific need (idea) of a website.
Majority of them are not useful, unless some how you can make tons of sites out of it and somehow you can get people to come to them. Most cheap turkey script don't have much functionalities, therefore not useful.
The one I find useful is the myspace script, one reason is that you can promote it all around myspace, and of course not every myspace user has seen these turnkey sites. So most of the time, your site is brand new to them. Even then, you can still change the look of your turnkey sites and promote it. And yes, like everyone else said, it takes a lot of work.
Well, it depends on the turnkey site. Marketing is the key to the success of the site. Even if you have a custom made solution but no marketing is done, still its not a good thing. That's why most of the people just focus on the marketing and promotion of the website. If you are part of the 1000 who have the same script, your marketing and niche is still unique.
I guess alot of time and effort can drive some profit out of any website but the thing i always go by is it take time and money to make money so if something is turnkey it cant make money because the title itself defeats these 2 rules i use.....
You can make money from these sites if you have existing traffic. You have first dibs on your existing customer base. Advertise your "new" products to them and you win automatically. If you're just like everyone else and are a nobody then you're going to have a hard time. http://www.freeringtoneheaven.com/arcade/ It took me a half hour to throw that arcade script up from the freeturnkey site. The games will be done uploading in a few minutes. Just FYI there is already existing AdSense code in the index.php file. It looks like the publisher has been banned though since no ads show up. It doesn't matter if a million other people throw that script up. I have an existing user base of the main site that will know about my copy. It also costs me nothing to run the script so I can't lose. It's a simple free way to add additional value to an existing site. Not a way to create a stand alone site.
Ahhh, great, I see, that's wonderful. I just wish I could find out how to get some customers period.. I have about 3 sites up selling things and aint making diddly.
I think turnkey solutions are excellent but it depends on which ones you go for, i know a really really good one that costs some money but ive heard its really profitable from others who bought it. The thing is it comes with advertising solution and multiple streams of income
Turnkey sites can be very profitable if you know what you are doing. I started a blog on this subject and you are welcome to read it, see sig for link.
