I just bought the rights to a quit smoking eBook and I was just wondring is y'all have any tips of where are good places and what are good ways to market an ebook. I am planning to advertise on AdWords for keywords such as "quit smoking". I don't have the biggest budget in the world so I was also wondering if you knew any free ways of advertising an eBook. Thanks P.S. I tried to search the forums for a thread simialr but all I got was "BUY MY EBOOK!"..."EARN $500 A DAY!"...stuff like that haha
Write some articles about smoking 350-500 words or have them written for you. Write and submit press releases about your product. Write a good resource box for articles and press releases pointing back to your website. Submit your articles to good article directory's (ezine articles) On your website capture peoples names and build a list. to get names offer a bonus or a free chapter from your book. Good luck!
If I were you, I will start writing as many articles (or outsource it) as possible and post it to Ezine article directory. Just master this one technique first before you start doing PPC, blogging, forums posting etc. Article marketing works! I got first and subsequent sales from article marketing.
Find some decent traffic keywords with not a lot of competition and start going after them. Write and submit articles to the top directories, use social bookmarking and also make and submit videos to the top sites. If you find some decent keywords, you will see some traffic coming in pretty quickly and hopefully some sales too.

Before you start submitting your articles you might want to read some of my thoughts from another thread where I mentioned I found a great article automation tool, which can sort the 1100 + directory sites within by PR... it was a $170 value that I was able to get for free I will be giving that information away later this week after I write the how to guide... Get joint-ventures. Contact people who have lists where you could sell your stuff. Use affiliates like Clickbank.
After you have tried all the free methods, you will find that you will not make much money, if any at all. Then get crackin' on advertising. If you don't have a lot of money, get a part-time job, and start saving for an advertising campaign. Get your site and ads critiqued first. if your site isn't that good, neither will your sales.
PPC is the best method to test the conversion quickly.If your product converts well then move to other methods.
Just like the others, I also recommend creating original and useful content that can attract your visitors to buy your ebook. Learn the art of pre-selling. It's working for me, so I think it will also work for you. By the way, quit smoking is a good idea. Hope that helps.

Adding more fuel in the fire: - How about creating a free ebook (report) on quitting smoking, and then giving it to those who subscribe to your newsletter. Then softly sell your product to those in the list... It's like the oldest trick in the world but it does work.

Advertising on forums, just liek you're doing now is the best way of promoting your product to lots of people Also try yahoo answers and write content on squidoo to attract lots of people for free
Join forums which talks about Quitting smoking .Hire someone to make around 100 post in health forums and use the signature link . Join yahoo group that talk about Smoking join google group hire someone to spam those groups that s what i do lol You can easily find 30+ such forums + yahoo and google group with huge number of people . i hope it helps
