IMHO, abortion should be allowed only if the pregnant women is in danger of dying when giving birth.

Otherwise the women is just not being responsible and accepting consequences of one's action.

Going through the cost, risk, and emotional trauma of an abortion isn't a consequence of one's actions?

Personally, I believe a woman has the right to choose. I am pro-choice 100% of the way.

With that being said, I don't feel that anyone has any right to condemn others for choosing an abortion if they do not have first-hand experience with the subject. I don't believe that any man or any woman -- anyone -- has the right to choose what another woman can do with their body. Their body, their choice.

Are coma victims than not human? Is anyone who is under anesthesia not human? why does consciousness define what a human is? I would think that having the living genetic material of a human is what would define you as human. I'd be shocked if most biologists didn't agree with me.

IMO women should be in full right to decide on weather she wants to have baby or not by all means (birth control methods+abortion etc). Its her body, her life and decesion totally belong to her.

Having baby is life altering situation and no one should be allowed to enforce women like "you failed to use other birth control methods, now you can not have abortion". Its just absurd IMO

Your comparisons are feeble and weak. Not even really worth any thoughtful answer.

Dshah and prophet, I completely agree with both of you. It's ridiculous in this day and age that the topic of abortion is still so controversial. Having a child truly IS a life altering situation, and I don't believe that anyone has the right to tell a woman she cannot do what she pleases with her own body. Her body, her choice. That's the way it should be, at least. Unfortunately, there are too many people who disagree with that statement.

Mita, it's true that women should not look to abortions as their form of birth control. The bottom line however is that it's their choice.

DeniseJ, perfectly put and as long as "religion" dictates how people think. there will always be this battle of which is right and which is wrong

Unfortunately, I know you are right. I always find myself completely disgruntled when it comes to religious activists and their appalling ways of controlling people's lives. Live and let live, people. Why should one woman's choice affect you?

I find that most people that support murdering babies are very much against the death penalty. I've never understood the rationale of this conflicting position.

Murders, pedophiles and rapists should be protected at all cost, but innocent babies should be casually murdered because people are not willing to take responsibility for their actions. Must be some sort of "progressive" thinking that justifies such contrasting views.
