Keep it up. The key is to always have several streams of traffic. If one cuts you out, you still have others. Referrals are more reliable than search engines anyway. If you have a link on a high traffic site, for as long as that link remains there, you're gonna get traffic. With search engines it can change any time.

Yes, I agree Referring Sites are the best source because they remain ideal, whereas Search engine Traffic fluctuates all the time.

Yes ideally you are getting traffic from many different sources. That way you always have a backup if any source stops sending traffic. Relying on search engines for most of your traffic does carry some degree of risk.

To get more traffic from search engines it mostly comes down to getting quality backlinks using your target keywords in your link anchor text. Ideally you are concurrently targeting a range of keywords of varying degrees of competitiveness.

Building good backlinks can be a challenge. There are many ways to build backlinks, but many of those strategies produce low quality links. You need to find ways to get very relevant links, preferably on high PR pages. Article marketing works very well for most niches. Press releases can be a great source of backlinks too, especially if you have the budget for a paid press release syndication service. Try these strategies and other link building strategies discussed on this forum. You should develop a schedule of regular building links through a few strategies. Keep in mind that you need better backlinks than the websites ranking above you for your target keywords. So it may take months of work to get decent rankings.

One thing that holds some websites back is poor keyword choice. So make sure you spend sufficient time researching keywords to find ones that get enough searches, are relevant and are realistic ranking targets.

    Good luck.

That's a lot of referring sites. You must have tons of backlinks, which would be what google uses to rank your site! So you must be in a pretty tough niche?

Well done getting so many referral links, they're the hard part that most people never achieve.

Google is fickle ... you can wake up tomorrow and it's gone.

I have 85% of my traffic from Google and I don't sleep at night!

Most of my traffic comes from SEs. To get organic traffic try to improve SERPs. Build backlinks and add content in your site, this will help a lot.

Lots of direct traffic usually means you've got HOT or useful content. Now you need to do some on-page SEO and build more backlinks. Make sure your title includes the keyphrase you want to rank for.

Good for you dude, now try to spend extra time searching for the right keywords to target and start adding related unique content to your website finally go ahead and build backlinks.

Remember to use your targeted keywords as the anchor text of the links when you can..

Note: You will never see any results, if you've targeted the wrong keyword ;)

    Thats great result for you.
I have a very low traffic blog (personal type) -

    According to Google Analytics --

    It has --

    90.26% from Search Engines

    5.84% Referring sites

    3.90% Direct traffic

I don't advertise --and do nothing with it but keep posting on a regular basis.

I would like it to have links from by other sites - but don't know how to do it without paid advertisements.

I always submit my posts on Stumbleupon/Digg/Propeller/Reddit and few other social bookmarking sites. Still.............:(
