Then, why don't the 17 crore people kick the 5000 taliban off in to the arabian ocean? Are they afraid of the 5000? I don't think a bunch of 5000 people can hold the 17 crore people to ransom, without the support of the 17 crore.

When 10 men in the Mumbai attack series were able to hold thousands of people in different locations as hostages, why can't 5000 do the same to 17 crore?

To be honest, we all talk brave because we're not IN the situation. However, I'd like to hear you say exactly that while someone's holding an AK47 to your head

I'm not talking points here.. I'm talking logical here. People just make claims sitting on their chairs, resting nice, playing a couple games, chatting with friends, etc.

Try to at least imagine yourself in the situation when talking brave!

10 terrorists attacked the civilians of India .Terrorist were carrying grenade,AK47 and many more Weapons, also the attack was made all of a sudden. how can you expect the civilians to fight with the terrorists ?
where as in the case of pakistan .The talibans have not attacked them all of a sudden .they are fighting with army not civilians and if the Paki army stop gaying aroung with Terrorist ,stop training them and sending them to india .i can bet on my virginity they can beat the heck out of talibans .

Wrong comparison dude. Taliban is not holding a gun on to your head and forcing you to support them.

In Mumbai, they were able to do that for a few days. Then they were sent to their deserving place. To hell.

If you are truly afraid of Taliban and keeping mum against them due to this fear, then you are falling pray to their strategy. This is exactly how the terrorists gain their power. If you are obeying them for fear, then they are winning.

They are fighting with the army, not the civilians... true!
So, why do you then ask the 5 crore civilians to push them out??

Or are you assuming that the 5 crore that was spoken of is the number of the army?

Besides, one more fact... 5 crore is not the total population of the Swat area... nope! 5 crore was a general estimation that covers more than just Swat.

True that... But, you're missing something here.
Like I said, when you're sitting on your chair typing it out, you don't know what's happening. Have you got any solid facts to back up your claim that the Taliban are not holding the civilians as hostage? Have you actually been there, and seen it all? If yes, I salute you and take my word back. If not, ...

In Mumbai, yet again, they were 10 against a whole boatload of army. Like I mentioned above, you'll need exactly that much (ratio) firepower and army to stand up to the Taliban. Don't expect the civilians to stand up to them. Civilians did not stand up to them in Mumbai (and this is not a wrong comparison). Besides, the Pakistan Army has more than just Swat to guard.

In actual fact, it is easier to blame a government, its army and all the political figures for the widespread terrorism in a specific area or country... as opposed to actually looking at the facts. You've yet to see the horrors people go through in all these terrorized areas. And the army/police force is doing all they can. When you're up against a larger force, it takes time and needs support, instead of criticism!

    Nuff said!

I am not blaming the government or the police alone. I am blaming the people of the region. Without their support, such a large force of militants cannot exist. And the government is not going to take really strong action against the Taliban as they know the people support them. The politicians know that they will lose power in that case. It is the people of the region who are responsible for electing strong politicians to power and force them to kick these militant elements out of the country. And the people should not provide moral and financial support for the militants as well. Without these financial and moral support, they cannot operate.

    Stop blaming the people... really!
The people there are nothing more than civilians. Who in their right mind would want to or be willing to support terrorists? No one... NO ONE!

Like I said, you cannot state anything for sure unless you've been there. Likewise, I am not going to draw conclusions. Simply stating a fact here (and we all know it well) that the Taliban militants do not thrive only within Pakistan. They have contacts in places other than in Pakistan. Who does NOT know that? Granted their 'major' base may be Pakistan and Pakistan IS partly to blame for that. But shifting the complete blame and burden of every single terrorist attack in this world on 'Pakistan and Taliban militants' is not going to help.

If you want to eliminate these militants, help the host country instead of bombing innocent areas where you KNOW you won't find these militants.

This post was not aimed at anyone specifically. But if they were reading, those who're responsible would know. Of course.. they are not going to read it :D :p

To be honest with you (and I mean every word of what I say) I've personally always looked up to India and its citizens as great people.

Why? I'm a Pakistani, yet I have friends (and quite a few of them) who's origin is India. And they're nothing short of awesome. They're helpful, polite, considerate, and friendly. I've personally never had anything against Indians. But when someone bashes our country, I won't stand back and say nothing! I'll defend my country if I have to - be it against its own citizens!

    I approve this post.

I'd like to add those were only ten attackers, and they jammed Indian financial capital, with population of 1.3 crore, for 60+ hours. And only hiding place were a handful of buildings, with no external supply of arms, ammu, food or fresh blood.

Whereas, 5000 talibans have hiding place of a many thousand square kilometers of rugged territory of towering mountains and caves, along with continuous supply of money, arms, ammu, food and fresh blood.

The point I am trying to make is, one terrorist can do something that 1 million people cannot stop. We, 17 crore, are doing our best against taliban. World can expect Pakistan to win after US wins against taliban in Afghanistan. If taliban can defeat super powers of their times .. British, Russia and now US .. how do you expect Pakistan to win so fast and so easy?
