Hey there, I know this sounds so "n00b"y ... but seriously, i still don't get what "niche" means!! Thanks
Hmmm i tried finding in a dictionary and also wiki but really nothing so ill try and give ya an example and hopefully you can get what it means. Niche would be the breakdown of a general topic into a more specific topic.. If you search for "Cats" then you will have a various breeds but if your looking for a specific Breed of cat say.... "Calico" or "Siamese" then your refining your search to a more specific... "niche". I hope ya understand that example.. thx malcolm
Niche generally refers to niche markets in Internet marketing scenario. Niche market is a small section of the market which is very specialized and not tapped. For example - dating is a broad category of a market which is heavily saturated. So if you want to start your own dating website, it is foolish to compete with top dating sites like Yahoo personals or Friendfinder. In such cases, it is better to go for untapped niches like dating for physically disabled people or dating for rich busy professionals.
I've tried dictionaries and wikies too. heh anyway... thanks everyone, its pretty clear to me now. Thanks malcolm, u got rep'd

Niche in my terms is a tool that can earn you lots of money if it is available only to you and if it is wide spread then it can cost you lot to use it...... Bit Technical but like it...
Niche marketing is targeting a product or service to a small portion of a market that is not being readily served by the mainstream product or service marketers.
