Ftp uploading keeps hanging

Im trying to upload wordpress into a directory at one of my hosting accounts but the upload keeps on hanging, slows right down, holds theres for an amount of time then starts again, does a few files then hangs some more.

Any reasons why this happens? i did notice things going slow earlier while logging into the email accounts at that hosting account.

Cant remember the last time i had this problem.

 

Maybe you have problems with your internet connection or your web server is overloaded(peak hours).

 

My internet connection seems fine, 4mb.

 

have you tried restarting ftp services? have you tried some other ftp software? may be your software have some problem.

 

Hi Pathan, by yesterday evening it was sorted, i contacted support at my host and i dont know if they did anything (they didn't mention that) but it was working as normal by time i got my reply from them.

It was frustrating, i was only trying to upload wordpress too for a new domain and the hanging my very frustrating.

Guy from support advised it can be to do with pasv sometimes, he said if its on turn it off and vice versa, didn't need to do that this time though.
