Why do NOFOLLOW links show up in all backlink checking software?

If I was Google, I would not rank a site well if it only had links from dofollow blogs. Would you not give some credit to nofollow backlinks? It shows you are willing to participate within your field/area without blog spamming.

For your information, backlinks from nofollow sites also counts to increase the PR. PR is not the only thing to evaluate your website. You should look at the Alexa ranking too.

nah... they don't give PR but could give certain traffic and who knows? maybe one day the website from where you got those NOFOLLOW backlinks decides to change their script and all links would be dofollow :) that's why all link checking scripts also show the nofollow links.

I think Google should give some weight to no-follow links as they directly indicates that person who is commenting over no follow blog is not intended to please Google. As Google always give preference to natural linking they should have count no follow links also.

Because companies don't intend for you to only get links from "dofollow" places. Any link you get can potentially help your site somehow (in terms of visitors), so they tell you everywhere :)

That's correct, you need to follow the guiding principle to 'keep it natural'.

    No Follow links:

    1) are counted by Google (for KW relevancy of anchor text ONLY.........no PR value)

    2) bring traffic to your site

    3) are seen by webmasters of Do Follow blogs, and they will invite you to join their site and make comments!

i see no reason for google to start counting no follow . They are no follow for a reason remember no folllow is not only used on blog comments its used in other areas as well considering it would have detrimental effect on relevancy. Google is in the business of providing relevant search results doubt they will mess with that anytime soon.
