About a month ago, I opened a paypal account. The main reason was that a friend of mine sold his website and didn't know a way of accepting the payment quickly. That was when I told him about paypal and that I would help him. OK, I received the $440 in my paypal and it was all fine. It was unverified at this time so I couldn't withdraw to my bank account. I also made some other sales on ebay, one for £90, the other for £120 and a few under £30. On the 20th of June, I log into the account and it said It's limited. I completed all the steps they asked for to verify my details and it's all now verified. However, they still won't give me full rights to it and demand proof of the goods or services offered. I have sent them photos of the receipts and invoices and even of a Royal Mail recorded delivery slip for the £90 product I sold. Now, they keep saying "We need more information about the products or serevices offered". What else can I give them? I am pretty sure the main thing they're refering to is the $440 transaction but there's no physical product in that? I am thinking of asking my buyers to send paypal an e-mail acknowledging they received the product and that they are happy. Would that help? The $440 transaction has been made outside of ebay. Would that be the main problem? I did mention it to them but their support seems to be the most targeted ever. They would give better answers if automatic machines would do all processing work! What's worse, is that now, one of the people I bought a Microsoft Office CD from for £80 has complained to me that the payment has been reversed and it has! Won't paypal assume their resposibility for this? It seems absurd as they are holding back all the money! Now I have no other way of paying the £80 as I only have £60 in my bank account . Anyone else experienced this kind of limitation? I know they limited the account because of the high initial transfer (from £0 to $440) but it's still my money. Why can't I withdraw them? Ever since I got the reverals back, I actually watch my gmail account with awe every morning. So fustrating that they make such a big meal out of it. I've never had any problems and am afraid not to get into trouble with the authorities as I am unable to pay the £80 I owe to that person. All the payments received, £354 now in my paypal account and am unable to do anything with it .
My advice would be to offer other payment methods if you hit your limit. Some that spring to mind include 2Checkout, PaySat and CCNOW Google them for URL Thanks

Maybe I haven't explained it out fully but limited account doesn't mean that I reached my funds limit. In paypal terms, it means that I can't receive/send payments. Basically, I can't do anything with them! Just sitting there unable to do anything. In other words, the account is blocked!
Forget the emails...Pick up the phone and call them. They are probably looking for something very specific and if you can ask follow up questions, you can probably figure out what they want
I agree. I have had the same problem in the past. It was solved with two phone calls. Grab the phone and talk to them, they are quite professional.
Thanks for the advice. I will wait a few more days and see how this goes as I'm not too keen on calling them due to my bad accent . Hate talking on the phone. I suppose that might turn out to be the only way as we don't seem to be getting anywhere with e-mails.
paypal is a mess, but like somone said call them and find out what they want, telling your customers to call paypal is useless they'l just think you got a friend to do it, also contact the person who you bought the cd from and tell them whats going on and why paypal has done this maybe if he calls paypal and complains to them about their behaviour towards you and him then they'l probably return back his money
I have talked to the paypal customer service on the phone today and they simply told me to provide further information on the products or merchandise I supplied to the customers. However, that's exactly what I've done for the past week! Sent them screenshots, everything they asked for. I'm going to wait to see what they say this time and then maybe phone them again.. not sure what to ask them. Just submitted a 1044 words letter including DETAILS and DETAILS of the products provided. It doesn't seem to be enough though .
I hope you could sort things out soon.I have this problem before. And I just keep on emailing them about this issue. And after 5 months of emailing them my account is fully restored.Thank god.
No offence but why are you asking us...There are case numbers there so I would call them directly and see exactly what they need. I see the same thing with people that are banned from AdSense. Don't you think the best thing to do is ask the person that suspended/limited your account? If my money was tied up, I would be on to them 50 times in a day if that was what it took.
if all else fails, open a new account. Just dont make the same mistake that got your first account banned. Your will get the money for the first account after 180 days.
What do you mean I'll get the money after 180 days? I have £352 in that account! And what's worse is that I can't pay the sellers to whom I owe £90 now .
Write them a check perhaps? And you will have to wait 180 before paypal lets you withdraw the funds. it is thier policy. Do a google search and you will see similar instances.
the email look like this... just login to account... I can't call paypal, I can't speak english... I open a us bank and get paypal... I was contact them but they send a auto email...
I had a similar situation about a year ago. It sucks, but as long as you didn't do anything shady, it will eventually get resolved. And I don't think I had to wait 180 days, it was more like 90.
