can anybody help me to find a way to write iphone application on windows? cos as far as i know it requirs u to have leopard OX to write application for iphone. And i personally dont like Mac os at all. and will feel much comfortable working on windows.... so any tips will be greatly appriciated.
well that much is pretty ovbious... i tired that... but that SDK only works on mac os... i need to find a way so that i can work on that SDK on windows..
LOD, you pretty much need OS X. I mean, you could write it in notepad and have someone build it for you, but then you couldn't test, etc. It's not worth it. If you're developing for the appstore, that's already a $99 commitment, and OS X is only $149.
No problem. I'd also like to point out that you wouldn't have xcode, so you'dHaveToTypeOutAllOfThoseMassiveFunctionsThatObjCCodersSeemToLikeYourself.
Yeah, have you looked at ano Obj-C code? I'd imaging coding Obj-C without xcode to be like... like... I can't even think of a serious enough analogy.
LOD, it's a different operating system - you can't. You could buy a cheap, used Mac off of ebay. There are ways to install illegal copies of OS X on non-apple hardware, but they only half work; hardware compatability is awful. Developing for the iPhone is an investment anyways.
thanks man... u r a great help.... dont mind my asking... do u do anything to earn money online... if yes what is it???
If you find a method, let me know. I did some iPhone programming, but I HAD to use an Intel Mac. I found a few articles that claim to be able to run OS X in a Windows-based Virtual Machine. I have not tried it, because I do not have a copy of OS X Leopard.
hey i can give u the link of osX leopard. but u need to have a rapidshare account... pm me if u do...
great job... i'm sure u r a programmer,eh? so which site do u use for freelancing??? and how tough was it to get the first project?
I've heard of kits to get it working on cygwin for windows... but I haven't personally got it working.
It is not possible to write iphone applications on windows. since Apple does not provide the needed framework for windows. It is available for Mac only.
