Google Keyword tool search volume so low (10%) in the last two months. "jobs" average is 101M and last month is only 10M and Jan. 10M. It happens with other keywords too, are people not going online search any more? "Airline" used to be 6M, only 200K now. Will Google and all the adsense ads going to be in big trouble?
Could have something to do with the recession. People may be protecting their credit cards behind an iron wall. However, The internet is still growing and there will always be a steady flow of internet traffic. Nothing can stop it.
Searching for the likes of "jobs" should not be affected by the recession, in fact it should grow dramatically as the recession deepens and the unemployment rate increases.
This is easily explained. Most of the web surfing goes on during office hours - most website owners can look at their traffic stats and confirm that they get traffic during office hours. Traffic dips on weekends. This is because bored office workers surf the Internet while waiting for quitting time. But in the past few months, literally millions of people have lost their jobs. So that's why the amount of Internet traffic has gone down.
You might be right, which would backup my original opinion. However, I have been marketing online for over a decade and The largest traffic spike is usually right after work/school.
During tough times, people would tend to look more at alternate means of earnings and internet search is bound to have lots of anxious visitors coming to it for help. I am surprised if the stats are showing otherwise... Regards, RightMan
The stats are probably rigged to add to the paranoia, much like they repeat over and over the same words on tv, whats to stop a few hundred thousand or million or two being deducted from the search results stats that they show you to influence you in many ways.
