$30 - $40 Banner Competition

Need a banner for one of my clients

2 day competition payment by paypal. We require PSD's

    http://gadgetheat.com

Need a banner to that fills the top of the site, If you want you could include a redesign for the menu options and a search box as already exits within the header design (hence the $30 - $40 prize).

Colors should complement the site but you are free to use whatever mix you want as long as it looks good. Note the gadget niche and go for it! Feel free to express yourself with the logo.

The strap line changes on a daily basis (currently Geeks With Loot), if you could include a css wrapper that styles the strap line in accordance with your banner design that would be a welcome bonus as it changes on a weekly basis. If you can't that's fine, no biggie.

    Styles he already likes:

    http://www.redferret.net/
    http://www.slipperybrick.com/
    http://www.ohgizmo.com/
    http://technabob.com/

If the banner is not blended with the sites colors, it should be transparent at the least

Here is my entry. The logo first and then incorporated in the header. I tried to keep it professional and clean looking so it can be used in print as well as on the web if the need should arise :)

    The header:

The line 'geeks with loot' can be made to look like that with CSS (just Century Gothic with negative letter-spacing) so it can be changed by you without editing images as you requested.

I think the navigation is fine. It's very easy to use and very clean looking.

Not quite what we are looking for. Would want it more blended and in tune with the site colors. Also it needs to be more arty than photo based

Yes we really want to buy but so far we have not seen anything our client would like.

We like what you have done with the G and the slightly comic look of the design.

We don't like the font on this design as it looks similar to soemthing we have already rejected in the past.

It needs to be a less common font than what you have used and if you do use a common font, at least make some alterations so that people can't recognise it straight away.

We like this in principle but you need to make the flame and gadgetheat smaller so as to leave space for advertising on the site (look at where the 'GadgetHeat' is positioned currently.

We would also like the font change to something bulkier and a more comic look to the whole design

    see
    http://www.slipperybrick.com/

their brick looks like it has been drawn by an artist but its a pretty simple 3d shape.

You should also change the colors to be closer to the site

    white #fff
    blue #000080
    grey #DBDBDB
    black #000

GadgetHeat is one word and it all should fit on one line. Your design is way to big and not in proportion for a banner that is supposed to fit across the top of the site.

The flames on the heat look amateurish and you need to drop the .com

A TV is not what were looking for in terms of a logo and even if it was, that design too flat and unattractive. The icon to go with the banner should be some kind of flame or spark gadget on fire etc
