Does Adsense really ban accounts with low conversions?

Hi I have been reading shoemoney blog and watched the adsense arbitrage video and he said Adsense ban accounts with low conversions? How do we prevent that? Isn't that the advertisers fault if the visitor decide that his site is crap and doesn't offer what his ad promised. And seriously if conversions are all that matters, then shouldn't we start MFA site because MFA site doesn't mean the clicks don't convert well. I mean how would we know which site can bring good conversions?

Google is a business and as such they will remove accounts that are not profitable. How can it be the advertisers fault if you do not create an environment that converts?

Shoemakermoneywhatever is a guy who will push every envelope and search for every angle and do just about any scheme if it's profitable. And yeah he has banned accounts so ... well you can draw your own conclusions.

This is not to say that what he does is unethical, it's just how his brain is wired to work. He is constantly working the next angle, quickbuck or whatever.

If you don't mind risking your account and have an effective strategy for converting MFA then it may work for you right up to the point that you get caught.

monfis is right. I don't see why there's any reason to suspend or penalize your account if your pure intention is to create a site that aims to provide useful information to your visitors.

I just thought it is not fair to ban publishers for poor conversions since adsense runs on a ppc basis with the strict terms that we are not allowed to promote the links. It is pretty much beyond publishers control where the clicks lead to if all they can do is put links amongst their contents without encouraging the visitors to go further.

Where did you hear this from?

No. They will not ban you for low conversions.

However, they will ban you if you do arbitrage. Eg. Deliver Google Adwords traffic to MFA pages to profit off..

I kept idle my Google adsense account from last 2 years and started again from December 2008! they didn't ban me! which foolish told you they ban because of low conversion? Facts are as below as someone mention already here....

    1. Google bans you if you do not follow guidelines and violate their TOS.
    2. Google ban you for flood clicks maybe your enemy doing this but still you will get ban...they don't care.
    3. you have daily visitors of less than 100 but they are clicking ads as soon as they are coming to your pages. Note google tracks visitors spending time on each pages after that loaded on your website and also check full human activities while you are on advertised page...and they will also monitor why you clicked and why you left from which page after click...so its something criticle to understand for novice user but still its working for google.

Didn't realize we had hot members on this DP forum. ;)

Moving along, Google will not ban you for the above but will ban you for other activities that go against their ToS and thats it.

They only thing they do with the accounts that have a very poor conversion rate is that they "smart price" them and then the poor publisher only earns 10% or even less of what (s)he should be earning.

Yes they do reduce the bid of ads on those low conversion sites as a result the CPC becomes seriously low.

Food for the  : http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10/facts-about-smart-pricing.html
