Affiliate Blog Marketing - Why am I failing already?

I started my blog recently and made a lucky sale after 4 days. That sale gave me a lot of energy to try harder. Now, like 10 days later, i have been working so hard to try to get another sale and I haven't had any luck :(.

I have been trying to get backlinks from the D-list.
I have been social bookmarking all of my posts.
I have changed the blog skin because people here recommended it.
I have added like 100 ping sites to my blog admin cp.
I have wrote an article and used submitter bot to submit it to a lot of sites.
I have wrote quality content every day for my blog.
I have wrote good and bad reviews for products.
I have been working as hard as I can to be successful in marketing. (Even when im very sick :( )

My hops/sale is currently 175/1 right now, that is not a good conversion ratio. how can I improve this?

can someone coach me a bit over pms or add me on msn so I can get some help :)

The first impression I have of your blog is that it is very hard to read because the type is too light. Maybe it's just me, but I automatically want to hit the back button because it strains my eyes - of course, I am an old guy. Perhaps part of your problem is that the visitors are not getting to your affiliate offers because of this.

Secondly, as a guy with several dozen affiliate blogs, I can tell you that you are not giving it enough time. 10 days is nothing. Barely time for the blog to be indexed by the search engines. Write more articles, add more backlinks, and write original content every day or second day, and you will see a slow steady climb in revenue.

    Good luck!

If the site you're talking about is revenuebin.com then you should know that there might be something wrong with it. Maybe it's just today or me, but your site took a long long time to load - most people wouldn't bother waiting. It took 3 minutes for it to load on several browsers I tried -IE and Google Chrome and did not even load or it's still loading in Firefox.

When I did get to your site, it looks generic - nothing about it really stands out. No images of what you're trying to sell and it has no personality. Plus, I think there is too many products for people to buy nowadays. I know that everyday I get emailed by people I'm subscribed with to buy this and that and the other. Info overload!

Your site is probably similar to what I'm trying to do with my site - sell products you're affiliated with. You may want to add adsense since you have an info site. A year from now, you could be earning a few hundred a month from just adsense if you keep it up. That's what I'm hoping to achieve with mine, anyway. Selling affiliate products would just be a bonus.

You need more targetted traffic first to start with.

your internet must be messed up or just 56k lol

Here is a speed analysis I did:

    Connection Rate Download Time
    14.4K 170.25 seconds
    28.8K 91.62 seconds
    33.6K 80.39 seconds
    56K 53.43 seconds
    ISDN 128K 25.38 seconds
    T1 1.44Mbps 14.07 seconds

btw, i was told adsense distracts people from the products i am selling. I have been making simple images for my posts though, ill try to put in some images for my products.

    anything else?

Your blog looks fine from here. But as I see it, you are selling a lot of products. Although it's just fine, I think it's better if you focus on a single product first. Focus on creating original articles that will attract your visitors to buy it.

How about making reviews about them? I saw two product reviews but you are selling a lot though.

For my part, I always put a few sentences at the end of each of my posts. Furthermore, I try to avoid using the anchor text - click here. It's like giving a command, instead of a request.

If you will check my blog, you will see that I use a definition of the product such as How to Make Money from Reselling Rights Products as the anchor text. It's working for me well enough considering that my traffic is not yet that high.

    Hope that helps.

14 seconds on T1 isn't fast as at. I think the average is 2-3 seconds but I may be mistaken.

Yer, its a bit slow down my end, hey a good idea for a logo could be a bin with cash coming out in a illustrative form, just an idea.

How about adding some pictures to your posts?

The problem is that everyone and their grandma has a "how to make money online blog." No offense. Your content is actually pretty good. But your niche is very saturated.

To make matters worse, if you head over to the Adsense forum, it's filled with idiots who create hundreds of cookie-cutter "make money online blogs" by copying somebody elses content and slapping the page with countless adsense ads just so they can make a few pennies a day. This in turn makes it harder for publishers like you, because your blog is so much harder to find between all the garbage.

Also, affiliate marketing is like a roller coaster. Don't expect the same results every day.

I find it comical that you are promoting "Make Money Online" products and then post a thread asking why you are failing at making money online.

Someone else hit the nail on the head already - pick a niche that isn't as saturated or one that you know much better. Too much competition with more knowledge and experience than you in the make money online area.

Beat the crap out of your host or switch to a decent company.

Besides, 1.57 pages per visit is too low. Aim to keep a visitor's attention for a bit longer.

I checked your site again and it seems to be okay today, must've been that particular time when I decided to check it out.

The point of adsense is that if they're not satisfied with what you're offering and they're not going to buy from you, most likely they will exit out of your site and it may as well be from an adsense ad.

If you really want to sell affiliate products, maybe you should consider putting an opt-in newsletter subscription on your site. This way, you could send your opt-in subscribers a brief make money tips newsletter once a week or so - keep in touch with the people who were interested in your site. Use an autoresponder perhaps and make it automated - less hassle for you in the long run. I just noticed you were posting about email marketing and lists on your latest blog post, so you know what I'm talking about then...

It's not about links, clicks, or whatever.

It's about figuring out how to match your content with your visitors need to own the content and putting it in front of the right visitors.

Marketing creates the plan you use to bring customers to your offer, sales closes the deal. Your marketing plan and site are different entities. You have to remove your own personal bias from your efforts and think about over delivering to your customer with an offer so compelling they have remorse if they do not take advantage of it.
