Does it make sense to advertise products/services on Google Base?

    My answer is "NO."

I am on the first ten positions on Google Base for keywords "my_city wedding dresses" and similar ones for a week.
My city has a population of a few millions. Still no traffic at all.

It looks like nobody uses Google Base for searching products such as wedding dresses.

Thats a question I have been asking myself....is it worth it?

Overall, I dont believe alot of people use it when looking, but that may change in the future.

My final decision, it cant hurt to have it there.

Last time I checked it costs nothing to list your products on G Base - so yea, I'd say it's worth it.

And people do use it - I see dozens of sales a day from it.

Our children's clothing site is only a few months old, and we're not even in the top 1000 Google results for our big key words 'baby clothes', but we uploaded our products to Google base and now our products are appearing at the top of the page as 'features' when someone searches on something specific like 'baby sun hats'.

Last night one of those clicks turned in to a nice fat order, so you won't hear me complaining about Froogle any time soon!

I think it's Googles way of giving us some much needed traffic while in the sand box, and it proves that we're a serious on-line business with real products to sell, and not some link farm.

Hey. First of all the services of Google Base & Froogle are free. And it will surely going to boost your ranking in google.com

It will help you for deep indexing of all your product pages.

And I think Froogle is good. It has chance for more conversion ratio.

I'd agree since it's free why not use it?

There's not much traffic on G Base, yet. Like most newer options it needs time. Besides it's not costing you money and it is getting you another avenue to be found.

    Patience.

When you give query in Google for certain keywords then it is first displaying some results from Froogle as a Product search results for keyword

    See click here
If you give search as 36 hole battery in google, then first 3 results google is displaying from Froogle.

So, it helps you in increasing your sales.

the bottom line is that its free to advertise and you won't see me refusing that even if I get minimal traffic

That's not what you said the first time. Sales ::: Ranking are two different things.
