The circumstances of this final are very similar to what happened in 1982,when Italy won the World Cup.

If the Italians win,it will bring some respite from the match fixing scandal currently plaguing Italian football.1982 had a pre WC fixing scandal too

France could argue that this is a replay of Euro 2000;)

    I hope France will win..

I hope it's a draw! Yes! A draw! This could be possible if they both keep scoring at the penalty shootout. Could be even more dramatic if everyone missed for a few hours!

Dude, Luca Tony scored something like 31 goals in Seria A last season. I would call that in form :) Italy has scoring ability all over the park, that's what makes them a better team this year and why they've come so far. Prevous years they have been too defensive minded, but with the new coach things have changed. With all the shit thats going on back home in Italy, it would make winning the World Cup even more special.

:D Good thought..But I do not think such a thing has ever happened in the WC.
If somebody puts a bet and gets rite,he'll be on ;)

It happened some time back when some chap betted on Xabi Alonso to score from the half way line ...and Xabi did.;)
Although chances of what u said happenin is lesser to Xabi scoring in the WC:eek:

I wish you had an option for "Who Cares?" But I guess I will take France. Was hoping it would be Germany vs Brazil.

I would like France to win; only so Zidane can go out on a high.

I wouldn't begrudge the Italians a victory mind you. Their semi-final win against Germany was one of, if not, the best 0-0 draw I have ever seen.

Italy, Italy have only conceded one goal in the whole tournament. And it was an auto-goal.
