To find out how much game ads pay try: http://uv.bidtool.overture.com/d/search/tools/bidtool/ It can give you a basic idea.. Don't expect a high CTR with an entertainment website or forum. If you do better than 1% I think your doing pretty well.

No, you must have a visible border between the pictures and the ad. I would always email Google if you attempt to place images next to your ads, just to be on the safe side.
Probably about $12-$15 per day if you're lucky. You have to have a lot of traffic to make good money with a game site.

lol, I manage to make less than $10 with 3500 - 4000 uniques a day, ofcourse it is not an Arcade site.
Arcade sites do not convert well, and the cost per click are very low. Arcade sites, humor sites, and video sites require an insane amount of traffic just to make a decent income. If this is your passion, I would say go for it; if it isn't, and you're doing this just for the buck, I would choose a better, less competitive niche.

Yes, that is insanely low. Are you sure you have Ad placement optimized? Is it your CTR that is crappy or your Revenue/Click? Does anybody know how much woud be revenue per click for Arcade sites? I assume it would be low, but low for someone else could be high for someone else.
Yeah the CTR and CPC is way too crappy, less than 1%, and somewhere around 1-3 cent per click. I guess I have to optimize the ads color and placement, and maybe giving better description for each game page,, I never had any experience with CPM network before. If I get accepted into ad network like Valueclick or Casale or CPXInteractive, do you know how much eCPM I can get for displaying inpage banners?
I have an arcade site making $1.50 with 200 uniques a day. It has currently gone down though. Most I have ever made from the site was 3.50 in 1 day as well. $15 a day with 500 uniques is very unlikely as the clicks can pay 5cents usually.
I'm using Adsense and Fastlick/Valueclick but haven't seen such results. I don't see how someone could make $15 with 500 uniques unless they had their visitors download spyware. Arcade sites are inconsistent, at least in my experience.
Well, I was judging that based on my revnue from 1600 uniques per day....so, I divided by 3 and cut a little off for the extra 100.
